I'm reccomending A Witch's Tale of the Fourth Holy Grail War by Rodyle.

Genre: Urban Fantasy (as par for the Nasuverse)
Crossover with Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Summary: During the Fourth Holy Grail War, Uryuu Ryuunosuke, 'hobbyist' extraordinaire, went about his summoning a little differently than in canon. This brings a different Caster candidate into the Grail War with a similar 'hobby', Beatrice the Golden, Witch of Rokkenjima. How will their differing styles of the art of mass murder turn their relationship? And how will the other participants of the war deal with this new Servant as she does as she is wont to do?

This fic is a very good fusion of the two series involved, meshing the magical styles of the two especially well considering the type of 'magic' Umineko has. The interactions of the characters are very sensible and gives quite a few funny moments when Beato trolls a few people. It also shows the thought processes of the other characters regarding Beato very well.

Although I've got to ask, is ordering them by number of votes really worth all the work? I know that the current large amount of fluctuations should calm down in another week or so, but it just seems like having to reorder the list at the whims of every person coming out of the woodwork to +1 something five months from now seems a bit excessive. A more stable method of organization, like say newest recs on top/bottom would be easier on you. That particular method would also prove to be a convenient way for someone to find worthwhile stories that gained notoriety while they were on a hiatus from the fandom. Popularity is already tracked in the op, but other than digging through the thread there isn't really a chronology.

Gotta keep'em sorted somehow, and making the good fics stand out (it's scientifically proven that nobody reads to the end of the list) sounds like a good idea to me.
Plus, hopefully I'll have my automatic sorter done by weekend.

Also split between chapters and one-shots (defined as "finished in about 5 chapters or less")

I mean, the flow of the story really helps as one goes along, especially with the twist near the end. To think, that a happy dream of his family would be Kotomine's nightmare.

Also, I'd recommend Laith's "Twisted/Bended"
