He got injured a while ago, so no energy and stuff, he's been working to get back in the saddle lately but avoids IRC and forums because he doesn't like to show up without some story to post. Also to avoid distractions and stuff.
He's currently doing as fine as he can be when he's in stubborn bastard mode. :|

Well here's a review for Clarent Blood Arthur by kingofbeasts

Summary:What happens when Ilyasviel von Einzbern summons a different Berserker for the 5th War? More importantly, what if the one she summoned has an axe to grind against a certain King of Knights?

Review: Illya summons Mordred instead of Hercules. The premise is interesting and the characters act the way they're supposed to act. There are a few OC's whose purpose I don't truly understand yet. The author tends to overdo the drama. The story's moving way too fast and not exactly in a good way.

Someone else recommended it without a review. I think it's worth a read though I'm not recommending it.

With that premise, color me interested. After I give it a try, I'll decide if I give a +1 or not.

Edit: Definetively, a +1 here. The prose is really good, the premise very interesting, and the characters are, for now at least, in character. For now it seems to follow Fate to some degree, but with some differences (Archer isn't wounded, but Shirou hasn't used any CS yet, and of course a different Berserker).

We are talking here of a guy who developed a secred sword technique good enough to actually being able to cut Arturia in half, and whose style makes him able to parry attacks he can't see! A simple human, or even a homunculus, shouldn't give him any trouble at all, specially someone who isn't exactly on his prime!

Ah, yes, I got that feeling too. Between this and the thing with Archer, I was this close to not give the +1, but I want to give it a chance, and, as I said, the prose is really solid.

I like the idea of Illya being spiteful enough that she would try to summon Berserkerlot to troll Saber, but that's about all this story has going for it.

Illya is out of character. I know she had her flashes of sympathy even in the original, but I don't really buy how cuddly and concerned she has been about Mordred. It's all too much too soon. I rolled my eyes at the scene of Illya being just SO CONCERNED about the prospect of Berserker being hurt in a two-on-one fight with Saber and Archer. Strange how that didn't seem to bother her at all in the beginning of the UBW route. The author smacks of another one of those authors who is parading around his or her favorite character and brushing that character's sins under the rug to make them more palatable to the audience. If you want to see Illya acting like Illya, check out Moczo's Chaos Theory (softer and lighter) or Lunaludus Scribex's The World Without (harder and darker).

I'm not sure I buy Mordred shrugging off Illya's manually installed insanity. Even if Herc couldn't do it, why is Mordred a beautiful butterfly who can hack it?

The super-powered butler comes out of nowhere and clashes with everything we know about the Einzberns. Sure, I could swallow some sort of super-homunculus built to make up for the characteristic combat shortcomings the Einzbern usually face, but this is a (seemingly) human guy who can fight off Servants just because. The Einzberns are paranoid about outsiders, and this guy doesn't even have someone like Caster buffing him to justify it. He can do it just because he can do it. There's nothing wrong with original characters, but he's a shining example of how not to write one.

It's not as bad as some of the down-voted stuff, but it is still sloppy and silly and doesn't have enough going for it to be worth much of anyone's time. Unless you're just such a huge Mordred fan that you have to read everything she's even been written into...Even then, you might as well stick with Apocrypha.

Getting real tired of authors who miss the point that members of the Berserker class are meant to be snarling facerolling rapemachines. If you want to use another class for actual characterization, don't use the one that canonically says "fuck off" to that notion.

Dunno if you guys are talking about Mad Enhancement or Command Seals, but materials says he could've shrugged of the latter if it were anyone other than Illya.
