    My fault, really

I tend to critique stories for straying from canon, but then my reading of the English translation lead to some discussion on interpretations and misconceptions.

The sad part is that I've proven I'm no Type Moon expert, but I still get on my high horse anyway. A good example before this: I was taking shots at a story for Gilgamesh introducing himself as "Gil," but other users made a very good case for Gilgamesh being the type of guy who might do something like to play head games with his listener.

So maybe I should spare everyone my interpretation of canon and just focus on more obvious things like content and style.

I got the impression churchies could do minor sacraments without magic circuits (because magic foundation is based on faith rather than circuits or whatever, dunno), it's just that Kirei got the ability to do more than just that?

It never happened? The bible verse was a password to take the Command Spells (as they were otherwise protected by holy prayers), but they were right there for anyone to see.

The phrasing even points out that anyone could come by and get them if they knew the verse, but that "Kirei would definitely be the first one to find him" so he left the password.

So just anyone can take command spells from a corpse and it doesn't involve magecraft at all?

Actually, rereading the scene, it's even more than that: you can't take them with thamaturgy at all, you gotta use the prayer-password.

+1 Shion Means Remembrance, by Arashi Leonhart.

Arashi's summary: "Drama. To delay or halt the use of Blood Fort on the school, Issei and Rider come to an accord. ~4000 words."

Yet another bittersweet short story by Arashi, this one focuses on Issei and Rider. Basically, he encounters Rider alone after school when Team Shinji sets up the Bloodfort, and after hearing her situation (and need for mana), he offers his help, of sorts. No, it's not a lemon. Once again, there's not too much to say about this one except it's one part heartwarming, one part sad, and quite well written.

The twist is that Issei was never gay for Shirou in the first place.

Many a Misheard was saddened that day.
McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.

Fate Reach Out has a new chapter uploaded.

I liked the new chapter. It had a bit of everything. Humor, with Yosuke not knowing how to summon his persona yet, action with fights against shadows (small fries, but eh, it's something), plot development, character development, bear puns and drama.

And Shirou had gained his second persona (he is a Wild Card, after all). The ever adorable Pixie!

    Spoiler:

Admittedly, I already saw that update on a different site, and it was about a month ago when it went up.

Hmm... this is a bit of a surprise these days.

An archive of my works on the forum that's pretty accurate.

Note that I don't wish to be seen as an idiot any longer. I can't always promise better works than before, but I can sure as hell try, alright?

On the bright side it has now been edited, the author always makes sure to only give the final copy to fanfiction.net.
(Although why is beyond me, I am pretty sure they would have been happy to see an unfinished version a month ago)

I'm biting the bullet and giving a +1 to Fate Revelation Online. It manage to make me like Kirito and Asuna, which is more than I can say for SAO itself.

The Shattered series didn't get any recs yet.

    Links: Shattered Heaven, Shatteraxia

Basically, Shattered Heaven is where Archer get transported into a parallel, everyone-is-the-opposite world due to Rin's experiments. So basically things like tyrannical Saber, shy and insecure Gil, actually saintly Kotomine, and evil-mastermind Shirou. Shatteraxia is sequel of sorts, where the normal and parallel world merge. While they aren't exactly masterpieces of literature, and the fight scenes could be better, they're still fun and interesting to read, mostly for the character interactions.

Plus it has Gil/Archer, which is amazing.

Count this as a +1 as well.
