IIRC Kirei (or someone pretty similar to him) was actually in proto-Fate as a separate character from Sancraid, though with all the minor changes in Prototype who knows if he still exists.
Would he be a major character or was it just like one of those school girls Rin runs into in the prologue in FSN.

The guy who got blackened midway through and had to be rescued by a third-rate witch and her new pet doggy, a chuuni self-insert? Pfft.
Nasu was clearly just going through a pretty pretty princess when he originally started Proto-Fate. He snapped out when he was a third of the way through or so, which is why the story got shelved until Takeuchi revived it with his personal reality marble, Unlimited Saber Works.
