Well, that doesn't mean a good Abridged series can't be made, just that it's rare. And it's a shame the Fate franchise doesn't have at least one by a prominent Youtuber/s who know what to do.
I remember the Pokemon abridged being pretty 'meh' overall, I'm not sure it was extremely reference heavy, but I do remember it was entirely boring.
I plain old don't remember seeing a Sailor Moon one, though I have heard it exists.
Not really surprised. No doubt multiple exist due to their popularity and no One True Abridged Series arose as a clear winner.
This seems like the best place to ask so I'll ask it here, what's the difference between the DVD version and the Blu Ray version of this? (Besides obvious lack of quality of course.)
season 1, an extra convo with gil and kotomine, a convo between caster and uryuu
thats all i remember
season 2 had basically nothing
So a few scenes then? Did the Blu Ray one have any extra features outside of that?
I don't know the details but yes, yes, yes.
I heard there was an extra scene with Iri and Saber as they got out of the airport in season 1 too. Other extras included a drama CD and the production material booklet. I don't know anything about season 2 though, was there really no extra notable scenes at all?
Other than the Drama CDs (S1's was about how Kiritsugu met Iri (REALLY good and UTW subbed them, I recommend checking them out) and S2's was about Kiritsugu living with Shirou) and the Einzbern Consultation Room specials...
S1:
- Caster and Uryuu's victims were shown in more explicit detail (actual crucified kids instead of just empty pillars).
- A couple of new scenes of Saber and Iri talking, one of them in the Einzbern castle in episode 9.
- Episode 11, the Banquet of the Kings, was like 5 minutes longer. Gilgamesh got a lot more lines (and laughs) and they actually showed Tokiomi telling Kirei to order the Assassins to move.
- Episode 12 was like 8 minutes longer, most of which went to expanding Kirei and Gil's conversation about Kirei's repressed schadenfreude. Their conversation in the same room in episode 6 was also slightly longer.
- Lancer and Sola talking before joining the attack on Caster in episode 13.
That's it off the top of my head.
S2 (the one which actually needed extra scenes):
Virtually nothing. Tokiomi talking about Risei dying for half a minute in episode 17, a couple of new Berserker lines in episode 20... yeah. S1 had like 20 minutes of new scenes, this one had like a single minute. Fucking ufotable, I swear.
I can't imagine viewing S1 of Zero without the extra content.
And this is yet another reason why I always wait and then go straight to BD's once they've all been released, rather than watching TV versions first. As long as a show actually gets a BD release that is.

This feels like a Steins;Gate gagQuote:
Gil: Yuetsu research club. We go to that dank basement of the church, Kirei and I drink wine together and question the true meaning of pleasure while imagining these situations and laugh ‘Fuhahahaha’ evilly. That is the Yuetsu club! Alright, Saber, I approve of you joining!
Saber: I’ll have to refuse.
Gil: Fast!
and mfw lampshading the real Arthurian legends and how they influenced Saber becoming the eating and sleeping character XD
^^I don't have patience for that.
Does anyone have these PV and CM?

The ones not included in any BD BOX.
Collecting.
Since there were a few words in the matter in the FSN thread.

Kajiura: Was it really necessary to draw those worms in such detail? I always wanted to speak up and ask them about that sometime.
Kondo: Some of the 3D staffers enjoy that sort of thing.
Aoki: It’s enthusiasm.
gehehehe~Quote:
Kajiura: The Horrors, too. I can’t go to the beach anymore now. How can they draw starfish in such detail? When I think of the scary scenes that had been cut being restored for the Blu-ray release… Go easy on me, please.
Huh, I wouldn't have thought that. It is true that I don't recall Silver Moon, Point Zero or the other more emotional tracks though in favor of tracks such as Babylonia and The Battle is to The Strong.Quote:
Kajiura: the melodies in “Fate/Zero” are made to be rather subdued. I wanted to keep them from coming too far into the foreground.
