Tfw even if Tsuki:Re comes out. Translation will take forever.
you will never have another translation project
you will never have another chance
you will fall
because you never tried to translate for yourselves
All Nasu has to do for the remake to sell reasonably well is to time its release with a corresponding Tsukihime collab event on FGO (yes, I know TM is infamous with its delays). I'm willing to bet it'll get enough Fate-only fans to at least give it a try. Whether or not it'll prove popular enough for TM to invest in subsequent Tsukihime-related content is another story.
That line of thought is kinda funny to me. Tsukihime feels like something written with the intention of continuation after it rather than FSN, which can only produce spin-offs with varying degrees of relevance to the original work.
But if it's a direct line to the main thing, then you can't make scrubs write it for you though.
Tsukihime 2 was a thing you know.
My thoughts exactly. I need no more.
I just recalled that time when Nasu said Bazett was originally planned for Tsukihime 2 and her and and Karen were supposed to appear in Tsukihime 2. In that same quote he told us to wait for it. So much potential.
Read Melty Blood Back Alley Alliance Nightmare manga by ACPI (who was recently inserted in the FGO writing staff) and just wait for LB7/Part 2 end.
Atlhough Tsukihime R is not guaranteed, I have my bets that the said plot line with the link will still be used.

It will be a book if you print it. Probably like those CYOA but without the page number directions for choices.
And I agree the comparison is indeed inadequate.
But people will bash out against it, there's no argument that will make them do otherwise. So behold whenever it happens.
Just to make sure, I don't have such opinion, I was only describing the common shitposter argument.
Actually, I think more often than not that AAA is underwhelming. :nasu:
VNs are different from books because they are written with character sprites and backgrounds in mind, so they tend to skip some stuff that would be detailed in a narrative written for a book. Heck, some VNs don't even use nameboxes and instead rely on the sprites to let the reader know who's speaking. Sure, there are characters who are written in a way that allows their lines to be immediately identified, but sometimes you'd be reading a passage when a bunch of people are talking and go "wait, who said that, character A, B, C, or D?". And let's not even talk about soundtrack, which can greatly enhance the reading of a scene.
If you were to just print out a VN's script, it would make a pretty crappy book. You'd need to many so many tweaks here and there, it'll be a different text even if the end result ends up 90% identical to the original. It's like reading a movie script and saying it's the same thing as watching the movie itself. You're only getting a part of the experience.
tl;dr no, VNs are not simply books. That line of thinking is extremely naive. They're not only novels, they're visual novels.
Muvluv battle scenes would be almost completely missing since theyre mainly told through the visual aspect of the medium. Same with the baldr franchise, it uses either the gameplay itself or the visuals of the gameplay engine to tell the action heavy parts.
and ofc remove Maedas and Oritos god tier music from Key and all youre left with is a slightly retarded girl magically dying.
This part is right, the textual genre is totally different. I would never call my beautiful novels on my shelf the same thing as most VNs nowadays, probably some sound novels back then, but the VNs, not really.
However...
I was not refering to genre when I said what I said, but the media, which by logic even you called it a book. Printed text on paper or eletronic form/set of pages that have been fastened together inside a cover to be read/etc.
You know, your typical cambridge dictionary definition.
I even gave an example of the specific genre it would be (and how even then, it would lack).

That is exactly how those I-don't-like-to-read people feel when Tolkien is describing a tree or any other very specific cultural aspect on LOTR. Put the movie OST and voilá, the experience is now more enjoyable.
I myself don't have such problem, for example, I started reading Tsukihime with a bug which didn't show the majority of the CGs and without some audio files.
I changed then when I noticed that people talked about images and audio, and boy oh boy, it actually worsened the experience for me (probably I don't value the far side routes much because of that).
Key is different because Maeda is not only the idea guy and main writer but also one of the main music composers, and he typically composes the music to all his climactic scenes himself. The music is a part of his vision, and a huge part of Keys brand. Key works are not as much about telling logically sound and interesting stories as theyre about simply delivering emotions, and the music is instrumental (hehe) in that.
no matter how many times i see a bug eyed monstrosity die from magical keyaids i still get the feels when maeda hits me with shit like chiisana te no hira, aozora or haruka kanata.
Did he compose for Charlotte too?
Yes. The OP, the ED and a couple BGM tracks.
Either way, I'll be buying any product with association that encourages T:RE, just like how I brought Megaman Zero/ZX collection in hopes that capcom gives a shit about Megaman again.
Does Yumi Kakazu makes a good Hisui? I miss Miyu Matsuki's Hisui...
I never watched the non-existent anime, but she does a good work in Prillya as Sapphire (technically not the same character, but she's supposed to be using her Hisui voice there).
So far I don't think we have any confirmation on whether the remake will have voice acting or not. Personally, I don't mind it either way.
If the remake DOES have voice acting, I hope they re-cast the folks from Carnival Phantasm/Melty Blood. Kohaku and Akiha's voices were absolutely on point.
But that's still not quite it, because of the sound. The best word would be 'multimedial novels', which sounds horrible because you associate 'multimedia' with movies, and VNs are shit at being movies.
I'd stick with Catdog Novel for now. Only when the medium evolves enough to also stimulate your prostate while reading will they be worthy of being called Art Novels.
