We all need a little bit of Tolkien in our lives so why not thread.
Guess I should specify first though. So, basically all works by Tolkien or inspired by him. Go wild.

No, I was... booing the series... never mind.
I fricking love lord of the rings! The books are so great and detailed, far better than the films.

I has an Anduril, your argument is invalid.
Yes, explain things to me that I already know. Next you'll be explaining how Telchar forged it in Nogrod alongside Angrist.
Arashi you glorious motherfucker.
I have Aragorn's dagger but I can't find it atm. In a storage box somewhere.
nvm found it
Lot's of those details are basically a filler.Quote:

LotR defined much of my childhood fantasy genre reading. Before the movies, I might add. I read the Silmarillion long ago - went way over my head at the time I first read it. One of the reasons I like Terry Brooks, I suppose.
Also I've heard nothing but good about Shadow of Mordor.
Haven't actually read the simarillion yet lol. I do know the gist of the lore though. The details in the books make it so much more interesting for me. I love LOTR because it's more like a actual legendary saga or historical epic but with fantasy elemental incorporated without it making magic just seem normal. Middle earth seems much more real than generic fantasy world X.
So you would didactically explain something about the books that does not appear in the films, yet have not actually delved deep into the origins of the world. May your hubris fall like Feanor before Gothmog.
