Warren endorsed Biden. Good (wo)man.
They did all sign an agreement to support the eventual nominee.
Still worthy of note. Plus her endorsement was refreshingly full throated. I had wondered considering she kind of closed herself off after she walked out of the primaries but it looks like she is ready to flex her muscles as we start readying for the general election
Her enthusiasm does lend some sense of credibility to the theory that she was just in it to drag Sanders down, unfortunately. It might change somewhat if she turns out to be Biden's pick for VP, as that could be seen as an olive branch to the Left... even if it just makes her look like an opportunist rather than an idealist. And unfortunately, the latter is a big part of what the Left is wanting right now. An idealist who will somehow be able to roll in and drive all the changes through whatever happens to be in Congress at the time.
In a somewhat unrelated note, but not entirely, I found this article on the Cyberpunk genre as it relates to our current global politics interesting.
For everyone's good, I hope El Presidente will not find some legitimate reason to fire Fauci since he is not in line.
Trump doesn't need a reason to fire anyone, just an extra misfire in his pickled marble of a brain.
Basically. Everyone in the administration proper works at his pleasure. He can fire people whenever. We saw that clearly with the Russia Probe and firing the FBI director for refusing to stop it or swear an oath of loyalty to him.
And you guys put him into power. Really?
We didn't. That's something most of the country didn't want to happen. However, as has been gone over repeatedly, our election system is borked in more ways than one, and all legal avenues of getting rid of him have been expended.
Except for voting him out of office.
So I gather you're in the Biden camp, despite being ineligible to vote?
Pretty much, yeah. With current political trends being what they are, I suspect he's a sign of things to come. The Boomers are dying, plain and simple. No one lives forever. As they fade, Gen X and Millennials will end up filling the voids they leave. Both of these generations are far to the Left of tgeir predecessors, likely due to not having been raised on a steady diet of Anti-Communist propaganda and the failures of the Left here when given a chance after the Cold War really dug in.
The question is more a matter of when that shift will happen and what the world will look like by then.
Call me pessimistic, but many are educated to be mindless drones to facilitate capitalism and consumerism, so they eventually become yesman to whatever the top says. I'm pretty disgusted at how the top treat people as expandable and many accept this fact and defending these actions. Maybe they are just the outspoken minority, but what if they are not?
I'm not particularly pessimistic about this. Yeah, there's a fair number of people who approve of how things operate here. However, they're a minority. One that's growing smaller with time.
Gen X does not display significantly different voting behaviors from Boomers. I'm not sure where this notion that they do comes from tbh. It's probably a natural inclination in the mind to blame everything on Boomers but Gen X is as smooth brained as they come. Even older millenials, so-called "Xenials", suck a lot too.
So it's literally only millenials and zoomers, if you want to get generational with it.
generational warfare will surely save us
I was reading about the counterculture movements in the 60s and 70s and I just can't wrap my head around the fact that they were boomers.
Are we gonna be like that when we're old? How upsetting.
living your entire live within the MK-Ultra mind control cultural industrial complex does that to you
There's plenty whose mindset survived it's not like only teenagers have principles. If you look at socdem orgs in countries where they arent crushed to fine powder they survive fine.
I think in the US it's just extra abysmal because the only party you can reasonably vote for is ideologically opposed to you so people get ground down more easily.
