I don't think we find out who it is in LB5, as far as I've gotten... still haven't finished Olympus...

You don't.
It'll be in the big final boss level, where we find out Meuniere is actually Angra or something.
The traitor is going to end up being Holmes. I don't know how but it is.
If Man From Chaldea is wary about other Chaldea crew beside Ritsuka and Mash, that would lead to some other questions;
What would the "traitor" gain if they knew Man From Chaldea's identity? And what can they do about it?
I can only guess he might be trouble to the traitor's scheme, but in what way?
Sion can be ruled out, since he explicitly refers to the ones on the boat at that moment.
If Holmes does turn traitor, I'm still not sure what his motives are, since according to his profile, he's basically Oberon's antithesis in term of his stance regarding PHH. Betraying Chaldea would be against what he stood for.
Unless of course, it's part of his deception just like Oberon.
I mean we have explicitely seen saber with diff stats
But we dont really have any example outside of vlad to make out the 'land' buff in anything
Which part of her stats are the landbuff? and as apocrypha shows the land buff dissappears if you leave the land itself, so not sure why you think thats a gotcha
Moriarty's interlude makes it very clear that Holmes would do ANYTHING to secure the future of PHH. All they have to do is pull a twist that pushes the "we are the bad guys" theme here to the extreme with the FGO world only being able to come back at a loss of the rest of PHH or FGO world was designated for pruning all along or whatever. There you go, easy Holmes traitor against us twist.
Mostly yes. Basically if you cant provide enough magical power, you yourself affect the amount of power the servant can show. In Kirtsugu's case his way of life affects Saber's luck negatively.
Not to mention that Vlad himself also was benefiting from his Demonic Defender of the State skill, which boosts him by itself much further.Quote:
The three factors that affect the status of a Servant are land, recognition, and Master.
With respect to land and recognition, the closer one is to the land (cultural sphere) that was the stage of the legend of the Heroic Spirit and the more that spirit is known, the stronger he is.
The meaning of "strong" here is the Servant becoming closer to the strength, equipment of that of the legend. Through this blessing, the addition of another NP is also possible.
If Chu Chulainn had been summoned in his homeland Ireland, a castle, chariot, protection of sleeplessness, and the like would have been added probably. Also, if the magic energy of the Master is powerful, the Servant will become closer to his strength as in the legend.
Making it even harder to guess which parts of his power were a result of his fame, rather than the skill.Quote:
■ Demonic Defender of the State: EX
By reserving leylines in advance, the specific range is treated as "one's domain."
With regards to battle inside this domain, the ruler, Vlad III acquires a combat power bonus comparable to a Berserker's A rank in Mad Enhancement.
Kazikli Bey is a usable Noble Phantasm only where this skill forms it's domain.
Though Cu Chulainn at least we know would gain some more noble phantasms/skills out of it if he was summoend in Ireland.
If Marisbilly's plan turns out to really be about securing PHH's future by eliminating all other possibilities and we, in turn, try to stop it, Holmes would have a motive to go against us. That would just be a turncoat moment though, not something preplanned.
Yeah that was probably a mistake. Unfortunately it was the only example of Medea stats with a different master available. Basically I was musing on potential answers to two interlinked questions:
1. Do Masters influence stats in any other way than magical energy supply? (The answer seems to be 'mostly no, but a little bit yes')
2. If not, did Medea gather enough magical energy via leylines etc. that the magical energy supply of a Master is entirely irrelevant? (Meaning that she would have the same stats with someone like Rin as she would a non-Magus like Souichirou)
I'm not sure whether I prefer to believe that Medea's energy gathering is so effective that she can—with the right preparation—self-sustain peak performance regardless of Master, or that she could have even better stats if summoned by someone like Rin. There seems to be room for both interpretations.
It's odd that I'm even thinking about this honestly, since I've always been of the "don't pay too much attention to the stats, they lie" mindset when it comes to Fate.
So what you're saying is, Nasu already gave the plot away in Last/Encore?
I feel like people are possibly reading what was said the wrong way. The Man from Chaldea says to not trust someone, not that they'll betray us. It's just the reverse of what Holmes told us in part 1, but it didn't make Romani a traitor. I imagine there's probably something that makes it so that they can't be in the same room together or something.
He literally says "don't speak of this to your fellow Chaldeans on that ship. There is someone among them not to be trusted." Like yeah, he doesn't outright say "they'll betray you" but what other conclusion can you possibly arrive at from "don't share this sensitive information with this someone, they're not to be trusted" than the reason they're not to be trusted is that they'll use that information to turn on you? If they would just keep it to themselves or not act on it then saying they're not to be trusted makes no sense.
Or because it'll make them paranoid. I think it's a bit of a leap to assume that if they learned of the Man from Chaldea, that they'd instantly turn on us. Again, it seems much like what we got with Holmes in part one, only he at least told us to be wary of. It doesn't seem like it's all that useful for the Man from Chaldea to be vague about things, unless perhaps it is da vinci who can monitor every square inch of the Border. It more seems to be a warning that someone on board isn't telling us everything they know, much like with Romani.
Nobody on the border is telling us everything they know. Show of hands of people who know Davinci is expiring soon vs who dont.
Did the summer Vinki event reveal to Guda that she's dying? Cuz Sherlock and Nemo know, and Goredolf is also probably gonna know before Guda because "he's seen plenty homunculi reach operational limits"
Anyone ever bother compiling all the lore-relevant puns, or at least some of them
Where does the claim that EMIYA's bow and armor are made from future material yet undiscovered by mankind come from?
