    he intends to kill me.

    "Hii----!"
I dodge the sweep of the man's arm.
There is an unpleasant crunching sound.
The man's arm is embedded in the wall... it's buried right into the concrete wall.
He did not hold back an inch.
Breaking a concrete wall, and in return, he's breaking his own bones.
    "Ah---ahah..."
It's a funny, hard to believe world.
If it's a dream... if it's a dream, I want it to end now.
They are strong enough to break concrete. But of course, they are slow and stupid. Also, the ones Arcueid were revived by Ciel IIRC.

Well from my perusing of the Tsukihime Lets Play, they're actually quite fast. Faster than you expect a corpse to be (since it somehow caught up to Shiki in the school). And of course, they have concrete breaking abilities. The thing I found hard to believe is they have "healing" powers that rival Shirou. Also... Ciel can revive zombies @__@??

Ah ok. And yes Ciel used a necromancy spell to revive and control some of zombies that Arc had killed and used them to attack Arc and Shiki. It was explained in the Plus Disk.

    Ciel should use magic more.

Hmm, could be a fic in that.

So, what's the consensus on "peak human"? Ryougi speedblitzed a bullet-timer, Tohno easily killed over a hundred of Nrvnqsr's beasts all attacking him at once and quite a few magical beasts among them, Tohno overwhelmed Dead Apostles in CQC, Kiri consistently dodged and countered Servant level speedblitz attempts, etc.

Beyond lolnasu, is there any explanation? Are peak humans just that good, to the point that a DA would be at a disadvantage against one?

I'd say Heroic Spirits are peak human.

I'd go on to clarify, Heroic Spirits with no supernatural or divine blood, who don't use any kind of magecraft to boost their physical capabilities, and who attained status as a Heroic Spirit through their own deeds rather than a contract with the world. Also, as close to the modern age as possible.

Unfortunately, the metric is now less than useful. Sorry about that.

So... Sasaki? As in the wraith impersonating him.
    Araya, what do you seek?

    ------True wisdom.

Araya, where do you seek it?
    「アラヤ、何処に求める」
    Only within myself.

Araya, what is your favorite color?
    「アラヤ、好きな色は?」
    Blue. No, ora-- Auuuuuuuugh!

As vanilla as someone breaking the sound barrier can be reasonably called, yeah.

I dunno. In my experience, writers tend to associate the new world with modernity and default to Olde Europe when it comes to the occult. Compounded with the fact that Japanese who write for otakus seem to have a fixation on Renaissance era Europe in general for whatever reason. But I imagine that a lot of magi would have left Europe in search of unclaimed spiritual land in the new world.

But yeah, I'd hold my breath on any mention of this. Info on Latin America is restricted to the fact that there's some powerful artifacts there and Africa may well not exist, though you'd think with Nasu's fixation on age the birthplace of humanity would have some monstrously powerful artifacts or mysteries. Also you'd think the Church would find most of its new manpower from the Southern hemisphere with Europe becoming increasingly non-religious and the global South being ripe with hard-line Catholics.

Shamanism is also a form of magic, right? So there should be some powerful stuff going on in the US and Africa.
