OR, which is what people are telling you, they relate back to just what is shown in the actual visual novel.
Your headcanon comes from your interpretation of these things outside of what we actually are shown and know. Sword Origin is not brought up in the novel, and all of the observations you've made that are in the novel tie back to the above, that he's just being consistent with what is already depicted, not some minor detail about the universe that was talked about after the fact. You also bring up examples that are not in the novel, comparisons to Lio and Kiritsugu and stuff, which is inconsistent with "I'm only bringing up what I've observed."2. The above is based on observation of what happened. Not headcanon of something I didn't see, nor have I ever claimed Shirou has 'awakened' to his origin, which mewarmo has missed twice already.
Please don't try to come up with methodology that conforms to confirmation bias then.3. The proposal does not involve other traits of Shirou - please do not try to bring anything other than a methodology to the table to counter my arguments, as I did not claim any other relation, and because a lot of tangents have been made just to tell you address something different than what I said.
Localizationing stuff
In an effort to make the conversation less of a mess I will address the above first to only argue only one point at a time.
You are again, as, uh, I believe, three times said before? Four? ...regardless, you are correct in the regard of what you address. He is in fact very consistent with what is depicted - And people make stupid decisions sometimes even when they aren't due to rampant philosophy. Before I read of the Origin I have adhered to an interpretation close to yours, where he just takes his ideals already explained to a dangerous extreme, sacrifices everything he is for a greater goal, and didn't care for him as much as the rest of the cast.
I only say, in hindsight, once I have found his Origin was Sword? His behavior would make more sense, even within the context. The Origin reinforces what came to pass, rather than reexplain it and invalidate everything beforehand - the fire, the guilt, the ideals, his adoptive father all still play a part.
I mean if you want to look at it that vaguely, it's possible but so broad an interpretation as to be meaningless when it deals with Shirou.
It's like saying "what if the Counter Force was responsible for pushing all of the events up to FSN to make sure the world is saved with Shirou's personality" or things like that.
It's so indirect that there is no point in really attributing anything to it until we learn otherwise.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
I just thought his sword origin meant he was more likely to grab a sword than a gun during an emergency, due to the origin giving him a subconscious preference for that.
It literally means nothing right now, until more about it is explained.
He never sleeps. He never dies.

...Ah. I have to admit complete failure then. I had supposed people would be entertained by the proposition once accepted, but, I have no reason to discuss when no one else benefits, is there?
Thank you, mAc~ I will just keep the theory to myself until and on the occasion there is confirmation.
There's a thread for this kind of hypothetical discussion, it's just not here. People actually want their questions answered here so that kind of meandering can confuse them. That's why everyone is jumping on you to combat what they see as misinformation.
I suspect incidents like this are largely responsible for the state of TM Wikia.

It's heavily implied that Saber spent the ten years between 1994 and 2004 reflecting on the numerous "pragmatism vs. chivalry" debates she had with Kiritsugu, and that she ultimately decided that Kiritsugu was correct and her former beliefs were naive. She is much more cynical and ruthless during the 5th Holy Grail War as a result.
