What is just my speculation, but based on what usually gets assigned as "demonic" I would say that demonic swords are something that have effect of disrupting natural order, while "holy" reinforce it/operate within it.Originally Posted by Washada

More seriously the holy/demonic thing sounds more Christian (Abrahamic, really)/Pagan than anything? Which explains the Northern Europe comment. Although of course it could work differently in different settings/time periods, but for medieval Europe I'd say that's about right.

Yes he did? He uses it twice in the UBW anime, and though I haven't seen the Fate one I think he uses it there too? Since he uses it on Saber in the Prologue.
