I mean I like a good power level talk, and used to be part of a Vs section, but for me it was always more of why it was interesting how certain powers matched up. With TM random fans it usually goes "Lol muh excaliblast" and I nope out.

Getting kind of BL History here. This is productive enough (and the thread's being slow enough) that I don't think we're minded to interrupt it by moving it now, but might shuffle it off if this is still going too much later.

I dunno that the translation/size first question is really answerable. I mean, it certainly wasn't founded as a site with a huge focus on the original language, and we've often had compatriots which were more capable in some area or other - mirror moon actually putting out the route patches, kitchens for the translator density, quality, and directness - which we've still outlasted. Even when it comes to the materials/guides snippets which we kind of have primacy in, there are plenty of randoms out there on reddit and Tumblr and whatever who can get to them first. Even if they're wrong.

TLs are undeniably a selling point for BL - I personally found and started lurking the old site because arai had done the HA EA scene - but I don't think they're a complete answer. I think the site's history helps a lot: we've simply been around long enough that we've firmly established ourselves as a prominent feature in the fandom's Anglophonic landscape, and that brings people in. (And among them are translators and artists and so on to help keep us there). In turn, I think we've lasted that long because we've got breadth rather than being laser-focused: we're not about a single game, or a single translation project, or a single person's ego - we've got none of the old staff from BL1 now, including Evo, and three of four admins were kicked upstairs last year. We have off-topic forums which are ... successful might be putting it a bit strongly ... but a social outlet that glues and anchors a certain part of the forum population. It encourages more of a community which is a key to longevity.

Did we do anything for the tenth anniversary? I missed 2014.

I first went to BL looking for Tsuki:Re and Mahoyo info on separate occasion iirc.

For Mahoyo, I found user X using UBW Taiga with biker helmet avvie revealed that the TL is dead or something.

Tsuki:Re one was more far back and unfruitful, so I can only remember user X using Shinji head photoshopped in Tokiomi's body avvie posting about something. Oh, and a photoshopped image of Re Arc with a long skirt.

In any case, BL is where all the info lies.

Another question:
I was looking a bit that "Useful BL Notes" pdf, then saw this http://imgur.com/a/4x97R.
Now, is that really possible to Verg Avesta become Wolf Avesta? Wolf+a holy script name, doesn't make any sense for Angra Mainyu's noble phantasm.
I found Aria's theory more sensible but still not satisfied.
Is there any other theories about Verg Avesta?
