I see the pattern of ancient goddess being giant here. Tiamat can go giant, Golden Fur White Face is already giant, and this mountain goddess (Skadi maybe?) too.

Because the Hassan order was still brand new when Dick was still around. As in, there really wouldn't have been any other options for a Hassan candidate if that's who he really has in his shadow.
But then I read somewhere it might be Cursed Arm, and he already has the guy who killed John in there somewhere so...
