Hmm.....is it any of his lives? It seemed like it was keeping him running forward when he was getting get of bablyowned by gil, though it does seem like his lag life always seems to trigger a much stronger version of it.

They supposed to work in conjunction.

Like:

Life -> tank, tank, tank -> BC -> Move onto next life -> ... repeat until 1 life left -> tank, tank, tank -> BC -> Dissipate

I didn't say it's supposed to "do something different than space shredding", I am saying it's not supposed to "just blow up".


Here you can see it was indeed snapped by Hercules, and it is implied the explosion was from the intercept. The image from the material book is just another source of support.
