Siegfried was still a superhuman and he never had problems of magical energy exhaustion and vanishing when he was alive. Being summoned as a Servant imposes a great number of restrictions on a Heroic Spirit. They're limited (it seems quite significantly) by the container they're inhabiting; they're required to continuously spend magical energy for upkeep that they may not be able to claim from their Master; they are affected by the cultural sphere and the recognition they get.
It's worth remembering that in the VN, Saber with full energy supply, at her most powerful (when she's contracted to Rin and Sakura) is related to being as strong as she was in life.

How to Defeat A Servant
When a Heroic Spirit emerges into this world, he first acquires a Spiritual Core. The Heroic Spirit then materialises as the body envelopes this Spiritual Core. In order to defeat a Heroic Spirit, one must inflict damage to the Spiritual Core. The Spiritual Core gradually diminishes as a result of massive magical energy expenditure or sustaining bodily damage. Under these adverse conditions, the Heroic Spirit’s expenditure of magical energy will escalate, and should damaged be inflicted through powerful magical energy, curse, or Noble Phantasm, the Spiritual Core will be destroyed, and the Heroic Spirit will no long be able to remain materialised. The heart and head are connected directly to the Spiritual Core, thus they are the weaknesses of Heroic Spirits. Sustaining damage at these locations will significantly weaken the Spiritual Core.
Battle of Servants
The battle between Servants can be called a process of gradually shaving off the magical energy that forms the their bodies. Attacks that consume a great amount of magical energy will inflict a massive amount of damage on the opponent, but it will also weaken yourself in the process. In order to inflict a great amount of damage with minimum expenditure of magical energy, it is necessary to collect intelligence regarding the enemy and assault his weakness.

You're going to have to point to this scene because I can't find anything like this. Before they fight Rider, Rin just talks about the different classifications of NPs. After the fight, you have Rin saying Saber used up her magic energy and is now fighting just to exist. There's no inconsistency here.
Saber's magic core is not endless as a Servant. What she was like in Camelot it was different, but as a Servant she's limited. You can think of it like a nuclear reactor that generates a shitton of electricity: the Master still has to provide the uranium fuel rods for the reactor to work. Shirou couldn't provide the rods at all, so he had toThat aside, is there something on summoning a Heroic Spirit as a servant that just puts a limiter on the access they have to their mana reserves? Some of them supposedly have all this near endless mana (like Saber with her dragon core), and I get that for Saber using too much at once would be dangerous if she can only access so much of it because of shirou's lack of connection to supply her with it, but for a regular servant that shouldn't really be a problem at all if they have a regular capable master right?provide a different rodlet Saber eat part of him to establish a connection.
Well, when you're alive, running out of mana means you might faint and need to sleep and eat a bunch rather than disappearing, so, you tell me, what's worse, ceasing to exist or wearing a corset in the deep south in the middle of summer?All of those sound like things that would limit people with idk, Heracles level maybe. The quote posted here implies that using too much of their mana would empty their reserves to the point that they disappear, but I don't see how being physical humans instead of heroic spirits would fix that problem at all? Were people like Siegfried really that much beyond humans before they were even turned into Heroic Spirits?

Balmung itself is described kinda like Saber's dragon core. You have to inject energy into it to get it to activate. And it was easier to take, generate, gather, or whatever magic energy in ye olden eras when mana was more abundant and part dragon kings were inherently more magical and had their full existence to draw upon rather than whatever fraction is crammed into the Servant containers.Ah, so it's just supposed to be a 'mystery' thing then? On that point, iirc it's the difference between the bad end when you don't choose to follow saber to the top of the building in the fight against rider and the regular progression.
I might be mistaken, but I had the impression she doesn't release excalibur if shirou doesn't show up sooner, but still gets exhausted from the fight. But right before the bad end, I believe the details of what Rin says are different, with the regular story giving the impression that saber is still hanging on despite her state and the bad end more clearly saying she won't make it another day.
Its implied she does release Excalibur right before Shirou shows up.
It's also one of those cases of the bond choices with her, because when you show up to support her that's one of the "right" decisions to make and ups her affection with you, while not showing up, while it might be smarter, is wrong...so she's less inclined to fight to survive. Or something.

which lead me to the conclusion if Shirou doesnt show up and makes Saber panic Excalibur while Rider is further away for his safety, Saber waits too long to Excaliblast Pegasus and Medusa gets a double kill
Did you guys see the new CM for Extra Last Encore? :O Do you think we can expect new arenas and dungeons for each opponent? If we truly have that city in the background, I think that would be awesome, it looks really cool !
They will at least spruce up the arena and the seas, because well in the game they were bland as fuck.

what would happen if Lancelot got a hold of a nuclear weapon and used his NP on it, like maybe an ICBM or something would it still only be D rank? also could lancelot be an archer?
He would have nuke as a weapon, and while low in rank it is able to damage Servants.
Also I don't remember seeing anything about Lancelot being an Archer. He's probably a very good marksmen but he probably doesn't have a projectile NP.
