Topaz is mentioned in the prologue as the gem Rin uses for her wind spell against Saber, which makes it likely but not certain that it's naturally wind-aligned. She also uses a topaz to blow up Caster's minions in UBW. Neither case seems to mention a particular effectiveness against spirits.
- I take from my pocket a topaz with a wind spell stored in it. Then, I launch all the magic energy it contains at her without processing it … !
This thing, which can blow away a house without a trace, is a bundle of wind spells I've stocked up over time.
It's one of the ten jewels I've been putting my magical energy into for seventeen years without rest.
(Prologue, Day 3)
- Tohsaka jumps out in front of me and throws a jewel at the bone creatures.
"Ein Körper ist ein Körper!"
She fills my vision with pure white.
"----"
That must have been some sort of release spell.
There is no sign of destruction in the hallway, and only the scattered remains of the bone creatures are there.
"Thanks, you helped me out. I rarely use the topaz, so it took me some time to get it ready."
(UBW; Day 7; Command Spell, second time)
The only other instance of a particular gem I have noted is that Rin's little owl familiar is made of amethyst.
- It is the corpse of an owl.
It is a bird made from crystal. It is simple, but suited for spying, and must have been made by Archer's Master.
"…Heh, that lady is unlucky. I could have made her my student if she were less talented."
She steps on it.
The amethyst crystals are crushed to powder, scattering star-like dust.
(UBW, Interlude 11-2)

so emiya can smell mana and spells and stuff, any explanation for that? cause I'm pretty sure that not normal for mages thou it could be very useful. does archer have that skill?
Wasn't there something about what Shirou senses is more distortions from the bloodfort than magical energy?
Yeah found it.
"Oh, that's the way you feel it, huh? …You're unskilled at detecting magical energy, but you might be sensitive to disorders in the world."

However, as others mentioned before, if something is really obvious, even Shirou can tell what it is.

Is there any basis in the story/profile for that popular fanart comic series where King Hassan is suddenly a loving grandpa? Or is it just the author's version of King Hassan
Cause if not, I finally understand why most of you dislike those Emiya Alter fanfics when Emiya Alter was introduced in FGO. I get weirdly annoyed every time I see that comic being highly upvoted in Reddit/Facebook since it butchers KH's character (afaik)

Spoiler:
The same amount of basis as riyo comics: taking something to their logical extreme
Localizationing stuff
Also does Magna Voluisse Magnum sprout vertically or can it change directions?
Passively the spear lets romulus control plants
so it can probably sprout any direction he wants
