The Shadow is slightly different from the mud, as it's an extension of Sakura's power. The mud is mana tainted by Angra Mainyu. The Shadow is that mana given orientation by Sakura.
It's similar to the difference between unused mana and then being mana burst by Karna. That mana gets a fire attribute because Karna. Like the Angra juice gets Imaginary attribute because Sakura.

More like the bottom layer of the planet is layer hell, then a bunch of layers above it. Ea tears through the area where it is used through the multiple layers to reach the bottom one. It doesn't tear the world apart, but act like a gigantic drill to drill a hole into the layers, exposing the hell layer.

Pretty sure we haven't. Vampires in TM are Dead Apostles and True Ancestors, both of which aren't analogies to western vampires either
