If that's not "like an organ" enough for you then I dunno what you expect
and I'm pretty sure there's an explicit comparison to organs somewhere but I can't for the life of me remember where (probably F/SN but that's hardly specific).

You know I've never seen a source that says Magic Crests are made from circuits.

And with the stuff from Case Files being the core of a crest is phantasmal species body parts and mystic codes I'm starting to think that its just not made of magic circuits.

I think at least one version was sort of a sequel, but I haven't played them so I can't say for sure.
