Battle Continuation is a scary thing.
The scene lasted like three seconds, so if he was already regenerating, that is pretty damn fast.
And if it's a completely new body, and not just having Godhand ripped apart a bit. I was thinking that with Saber and Herc, AM was doing the same thing it did on Gil, but they just ended up assimilated and didn't pass their checks.
It is , imo, probably must something not merging right with his divinty, like some curse giving him a brand new body makes the divinity go, 'ah hell naw'.

I think that really only applies if one curse explicitly counters or would otherwise interfere with another curse. I don't think it works like an equipment slot where you can only have one equipped, plus that assumes that Angra mainyu is a stronger curse then God Hand which seems kind of unlikely. It kills people, that's fairly easy to do, and it kills many people, so there is a lot of it.
If one curse makes your liver sick but then a stronger curse effects your skin I don't think the liver dieases is going to go away. Similarly, I don't remember Saber Alter's skin rotting off so Angra Mainyu probably doesn't care about his skin or for that matter his entire body it just gave him a grimdark paintjob.

God Hand affects the flesh, AM (in the case of darkened Servants) affects the flesh.
God Hand is powered by a long-gone, long-forgotten, long-dead god (or pantheon of gods), AM is powered by a path to the Root, an older religion and near-infinite magical backup.
I dunno, I thought it was pretty clear cut. God Hand was being destroyed by AM, which is why he was rotting and skinless and eyeless and such.

I don't think there was ever any mention of it effecting the body except in the case of Kotomine when it gave him a second heart mysteriously. (With no explanation and only in that instance because Angra Mainyu has no respect for your modern notions of consistency)

Angra Mainyu does what Angra Mainyu wants. It's a thinking being after all. And it deserves to live, Emiya Shirou.
But it does beg the question, why was it hurting Herakles, and not Saber?
Was it because Herakles was trying his best at not being controlled and the curse retaliated?
It's hard to say he was even Blackened considering he thought he was defending Illya from Saber the whole time (somehow while recognizing Shirou as a threat and attacking him, Eye of Mind?). Can you even invert an alignment (whatever that means) when the Good Neutral Evil Axis is off in some made up Nasu term?

Show quotes man. It gives them od if Sakura contracts them because she is their Master and that's what all Masters do. It rips them apart if it eats them not because of anything intrinsic to Angra Mainyu but because Sakura is using her absorption magic that has a auto critical hit x10 modifier on spiritual beings. I don't see any need to introduce something beyond vague like "it effects their bodies" (since you could say that about everything and anything) and be satisfied with it.
Oh yeah it also incarnates them but that's almost like some other side effect since Gilgamesh wasn't blackened and he was incarnated.

I guess the "water" from the Grail had the power to incarnate Servants even before it got corrupted in the Third war. After that the "incarnation" effect remained ( as demonstrated by Gil's example ), but now it also corrupted or blackened them ( with the exception of Gil of course ).

Not really, I'm reasonably sure that's all AM and its status as a "monster that incarnates". And I think there's some throwaway lines implying that Gilgamesh had been fully tainted by AM just like the blackened Servants, but was so boss that it didn't change his personality a bit. But there's no more LP so that one will be a mystery forever.

Yeah but his stats still drop under Kotomine and he doesn't get A++ infinite od or whatever his max Magic Energy stat would be.

I'm not saying it should. I agree with you on that part, that's all from being jacked in to Hyper Sakura. But the incarnating and personality inversion should be because of AM. Oh, and it's super effective against Servants even without Sakura's influence, judging from the way Gilgamesh vanished into it at the end of Zero, and Rin's boasts at the end of UBW that unlike Servants she'd be able to cross the lake of mud because she's not a half-spirit. I think the effect is just amplified even further when filtered through Sakura's imaginary numbers.
