Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
Is Solomon the ancestor of all magi of which 72 were selected by Goetia or is he the ancestor 72 lines of magi which were then used by Goetia?
well its solomon's bod either way

With the way the keep adding shit to gils vault, soon he will have the root in it.
Life is short, we don't need to shitpost at eachother about nasu.
Sorry, maybe I didn't ask my question correctly. I've seen people say that all magi come from Solomon and others say that Solomon is the ancestor of 72 magi line of families. Which is it?
the latter
if you're a western magus and you're wind, in an eastern system you're not going to be wind because wind doesn't exist in that line of thinking

the second
all magi did not come from solomon, there were magi before him.

"Right. One usually takes one of the elements that make up this world. They call fire normal and wind noble in the Magic Association, right?
It can be one of 'earth, water, fire, wind, heaven' or one of 'wood, fire, earth, metal, water'.
A magus has one of these elements, and there are others with specialized elements as well.
…Most of these magi end up as specialists, though."
tl;dr: different systems have different elements, and then there are wacky elements like "sword" so good luck finding out how many there are
Localizationing stuff
GO and Apocrypha Spoilers

Actually considering how alignment is kinda sorta innate how does it interact with one's choice of magical foundation which should by all rights be a thing that is decided later in life.
Or is your alignment just how whatever magical foundation you're using interprets some nebulous personal nature that is the actual innate thing so like maybe if you're Wind in MA foundation that translates to Manipulation in HxH foundation because that just happens to be how your you-ness translates into magic.
well most magi also have a pedigree to consider too.
Like how it says Sakura is born to use the Tohsaka magecraft because she's a Tohsaka. So you have compatibility that way as well.
there are a lot of factors.

or how to use the matou magecraft you have a water alignment.
So presumably they were all born with water.
but yeah in that way its the latter

Can a Heroic Spirit from a pruned world-line be summoned as a Servant?
You know how when something's blocked up inside and you eat a lot of prunes to get rid of it? The universe does the same thing, but to failed timelines.
