It grants the holder main heroine status, thus embuing them with Plot Armour of the highest class, second only to that of protagonists and final bosses
The Regalia and the boost modes are different things. Regalia is basically portable grail power, the ultimate plot device. Moon Crunch form is you concentrate all spiritrons inside SE.RA.PH to make a moonlight costume for your servant, thus enhancing their stats and improve their combat abilities. Also we get mahou shoujo transformation fanservice. If we go by Tamamo's comment, with Moon Crunch activated she has a 50-50 chance of beating Gilgamesh, so you can kinda estimate it from there.
