It was never stated, but I can't see the Glascheit family being part of any other department.

Interpret as you wish. Keep in mind that the way Nasu puts emphasis on 人生 makes it sound like its more about the way his life plays out than anything else, but really, who knows. No need to put too much stock in it either way.

Nasu: Although it's an image in my mind, but I don't think Shirou would have been able to live long enough to become an old grampa. But if it was Muramasa, I could portray him as the grandfather that Shirou couldn't become.

Zouken worms are a species derived from him/host, so they count as human body as opposed to things coming from nature.

Rape worms aren't curses. It was mentioned if it was a curse. Zouken wouldn't be able to handle it

I still think it's Botany because insects weren't always classified as animals, and Curses because that where you need to go to invent Command Spells.
