Call me 想φαγω.
Spoiler:
IRL the Hashashin were destroyed in 1275 which would have been during (or just after?) Cursed Arm's reign, but I guess in Fate they continued even after the Mongols invaded since CA wasn't the last Hassan.
^ Easily possible since we know that the Nasuverse's history doesn't map exactly 1:1 onto our own.
Especially as being the "most famous group of assassins" is something of a harmful paradox so them going underground after the Mongol assault is very logical.

Technically the Mongols didn't completely eradicate the Assassins. They managed to reclaim their major Fortresses in Syria and continued to operate for some times even after the destruction of their HQ in Alamut.
Wait, do we even know if the Assassins ever really ended in the Nasuverse?
I wouldn't be shocked if it turns out they're active to this day.
They are still active to this day in real life too

I wonder if you could use that as an excuse to say that there is still a living (pseudo-)Hassan, somewhere, out there, carrying a legacy hundreds of years old. Just because there are only 19 known leaders doesn't mean the idea of "leader of the Assassins" died with the nineteenth.
I always thought mountain people like souji and others are related to hassans..after all they are supposed to be first assassins...since well they are known as "old man of the mountain".
Maybe separate denominations or something..or perhaps it's the opposite..they diverged from the mountain people.
I can't tell if you're talking about Soujuurou or Okita Souji.
I also can't decide which option is the most baffling one to try and connect to the Hassans.
There is clearly only one se(c)t of professional killers in the Nasuverse. Just like there are only three countries and a half in Europe.
^ Lol, reminds me of when the trailers for Pokémon Legends were coming out and some people were absolutely insistent that the Professor *had* to be the ancestor of Leon because apparently there's only one family of dark-skinned people living in Galar.

Okita souji ain't mountain people..as far as I know anyway

It's not professional killers per se..it just seems like those mountain people in mahoyo or him in fate stay night introduction felt like they were as old as human civilisation.
They didn't spelt it of course but it's not crazy to assume that they could be connected although far fetched..
Admirable Tactics is the game that Iskandar bought and what got Waver into vidya
The game from Himuten is 英雄史大戦 which is in the TM wikia as Great War of Heroes (I like calling it Heroes of Fate: Grand Offensive).Admirable Tactics IV#report error
other
The fourth entry in a super-popular series of war games set during World War II, where players control the Axis powers and fight against the Allies. The subtitle is “The Melancholy of Dr. Porsche.”
Since the game systems had already reached the limits of complexity and difficulty in the previous installment, this newest version simply added more nations, stages, and maps. And with new units like the Focke-Wulf Triebflügel, the V-3 cannon, and a clone of the Führer himself, it surpassed the realm of war games and became a chaotic melting pot that defies description. Even now, it enjoys a small but intensely dedicated fanbase.
It has been mentioned in Case Files Adventures and Strange Fake.

Hmm, not impossible. The game is made by a company called SBN (implied to mean Sega Business Network), who also made the DC3 console (implied to mean Dreamcast 3), so regardless of a potential Fuyuki Grail War participation, it's already guaranteed that something about the world of magecraft Sega's hardware production. Van-Fem being a Sega shareholder is a more sensible explanation for me, but I can't dismiss the mysterious Caster Master of 3rd War being an important person at Sega.
