The Notes version is also never implied to be anything other than the size of a normal rifle as far as I remember so I really wonder what compelled them to go the route they did for it in FGO

Looks cool.
Yeah, that’s what gets me, Barrel Replica is pretty consistently referred to as working based on life span with no mentions of Grain, and OG BB doesn’t mention life span outside of it’s title. I’d been thinking about it for a while.

Yeah that is odd, Sion having a Replica of the Black Barrel is clearly a reference to the old Barrel Replica but it would be weird to suddenly make it huge. Still though, the fact both Barrel replicas work on damage based on life span makes it feel like they’re supposed to be the same. Maybe a Remake lore related change? Maybe tied to FGO Sion clearly being mysterious and weird still? Idk

It’s a typical Rifle as recently as Back Alley Nightmare too.
If you're talking about this page
Then I don't really think that this is supposed to be the Black Barrel. Not only are the Superweapons of Atlas not mentioned, but among the examples of "weapons that can destroy the world" is CHALDEAS, which is definitely not Atlas-produced. It's a generic showcase, imo. Not particularly pertinent, but I feel like mentioning this because I've seen this brought up several times and I believe it's a typical reaction of fans drawing connections where there are few.
Also, the mention of "recently" made me realize that MBBAN is actually almost a decade old, lmao.
I think it would still make the most sense if that was Black Barrel though, I can’t really think of anything else that rifle design would be in reference to

Guns.
I heavily doubt it’s meant to be a completely normal human weapon like “guns” in general, if they wanted to go for that angle then nukes would make way more sense in that context
That’s fair, I just kinda figured that while it wasn’t exclusively for Atlas weapons, it was including a well known example of a weapon that can destroy the world. It could just be an unrelated gun though you’re right.
And yeah I was trying to find a good word for it, idk I guess 10 Years isn’t too bad compared to some other stuff lmao.
I can't think of anything else it could be so probably?
If true ether is called fifth true theoretical factor then then fake ether would be fifth imaginary theoretical factor?
Since black barrel kills fifth true theoretical factor is it alright to call the substance it kills it with is fifth true true factor..
Don't mind me..this shit looks funny af..
OG Black Barrel makes no sense within the context of even 2006 lore. It destroys Ether (fake), but the Aristotles were retconned to being made out of Grain (True Ether) and that hasn't changed since then.
The priest was waiting for the arrival of the princess, who was only an enemy of all of them.
For the priest, the golden princess was the one and only main heroine.
Everyone else was unworthy of his respect, no matter how strong they were.
Tsukihime 2 Prelude III
So uhm ... I remember doing some back-reading at one point and seeing a whole explanation about Daemons, Surtr, and Imaginary Numbers, but I'm still confused about it. Could someone clarify the link between them ?
Also, somewhat separately, is there some correlation/intercompatibility between the Imaginary Number Space and the Second Magic ? I know it sounds stupid but there's that whole thing about it being made of all the possibilities (???) and looking at Norse entities mats got me wondering, since on one side there's Surtr's Hollow implications and on the other there's Odin's eye (although I suppose in his case it might be correct to assume it's because what he did with his eye sacrifice and how he made Runes and Touko calling "Ymir's Entrance" the path to the Root so maybe Odin is just a near-Magician back in the AoG ?) so it got me curious as well.
I assume that the computery blocks behind Zepia in this panel from the CF manga are supposed to be showing Logos React. Though to be fair Back Alley Nightmare is way older than this manga chapter and I don't think Logos React was shown in any art in the CF novels, so it could be that cube was the BAN artist's idea of it.
