I don't think anybody would argue that Sakura is some incompetent, dumb cow unless they were straight-up trolling hardcore. It's just that, being the "genius" has always been Rin's thing, so it kind of feels like that's being cheapened if you grant that to Sakura, too. Why can't she excel in her own way, with her own good points?
But it's just bullshit to claim that Rin is smarter than Sakura. And, how else is she supposed to be "excelling", if she can't become a good magus even if she took Rin's place?

I personally believe it is unlikely she is a 'genius' in the same way Rin is, yes.
I think being the "genius at hard work" type, that puts in the blood, sweat, and tears without ever backing down or complaining fits Sakura better than the "everything comes super-easily to me lol" type that Rin is. They both usually end up at the same place, but get there differently.
That's just my opinion, though.

Well think about it this way. Is being a genius at magic all Rin is good for? I would have to say that is not the case, so i really didn't think that this was anything to argue over. Seeing as their are other people at the top of Magus Association's rankings, it isn't unique to her, lol. That would be silly to say, "lol, if anyone else is special, she is less special, lol"
People can be good at a lot of different things that may overlap with someone else's talents. Rin is better with Chinese food than Sakura, does this diminish Sakura's cooking skill? No. I'm kinda laughing here at how silly this whole thing sounds now.

In this particular argument, it's the point that matters.Is being a genius at magic all Rin is good for?
Rin' nature helps her more than Sakura: Rin wanna be "the perfect mage" while Sakura is the "i'm fine this way" type. We are not saying that Sakura CAN'T BE a genius, of course she can ! We are just saying that this "Genius" role fits better Rin than Sakura.

She is the type that will see her faults and go further from it.
She shouldn't even want anything to do with magic after what she went through, but she picks herself up, dusts herself off, and trains. Perseverance at it's best, imo.
