Okay scratch that and try this. If you had a similar weapon as Fragarach, but it attacked the NP instead of the other person, then you'd basically nullify your own death and destroy GB?
Lol, I am going to sound like I'm high or something.
But "there's no spear".
Everything you see after Gae Bolg is invoked is an illusion.
You can "destroy/intercept/negate" the spear all you want, nothing will work.
EDIT:
"You die" is the end result. You can do stuff, but to the World, the end result is already determined, the World will just alter the process accordingly so the result is reached.
So GB is basically an instant kill quick attack that's faster than all other priority moves (Fragarach and the like), then.
Against other priority moves that doesn't affect it, yes.
Well, it can't kill Wallachia, as a phenomenon, and it can't kill ORT.
Hope Rides With His Godly Ronin/Cowboy Brother In Law
lol, imagine Lancer targeting the Forest with Gae Bolg.

Can Gae Bolg kill a metaphorical heart? Or "heart" as used in figures of speech?![]()
Well, he managed to kill Kotomine with a regular stab.
FGO Supports
Well as long as you have a heart it can target it will pierce you and than sprout its thorns, complitly destroying your insides. Even if Kotomine doesen't need his fake heart to live/survive, I doubt he would survive the thorns...
That's Gae Bolg "FULL POWAH RECREATING THE LEGEND GGARRRHHH".
There's no proof a regular shanking fills you with thorns, see Shirou.
What I want to know is if Gae Bolg can kill the Heart of the Cards.
Lancer versus Yami Yugi, basically.
Shirou is an awful example.
The guy sprouts swords to "protect" his viscera.
