So what is the in-lore explanations for NPs increasing in rank, like Balmung reaching rank EX for example
Self-discovery, training, getting your knights' approval, finding the cursed money that your best friend stole from your widow
Also he needs to have one for what we know about Zealot to be true.
IMHO if asked about his Zabaniya King Hassan would probably say something along the lines of:
"Guaranteed Assassination Technique? Fool, what's the point of that? All assassination attempts should be guaranteed to work. Bring out thy head!"
Zealot says herself that she doesn't fully understand some of the Zabaniyas she has, maybe her stand-in for Gramps is just a degraded version of Azrael that she doesn't know is not a Zabaniya?

Zealot herself is probably an alternate timeline wibbly wobbly timey wimey... liney.

Or maybe Zealot is nuttier then a fruitcake and honestly doesn't get what being a Hassan is about, which is why she's a reject and not a real Old Man of the Mountain?
May I ask a question? From what little I know of Type Moon's mechanics (the basics of them), when a servant is summoned in their home country and fights there they receive a rank up to their stats, right (please correct me and or flesh out the mechanic I am referring to)? So seeing as Emiya was summoned in Japan, his birthplace, during Fate, did he recieve a rank up to his stats, like Vlad did from being summoned in Romania during Apocrypha? Did he not recieve one due to the fact that he is unknown to the world at large, having neither fame nor infamy in regards to humanity? Is there something I am missing about that mechanic in general? Thank you for any insight you can provide. It was an idol thought that just randomy popped into my head yesterday and I couldn't get it out of my mind afterwards.
