thanks for the responses guys, that question's been on my mind for a while now. I'm pretty sure he did:

The sword of rock breaks.
A flash of the golden sword smashes the giant's axe-sword, slashes into the hard body, and

But that's only for an instant.
The light disappears and silence returns to the forest.
Edit: that's saber nvm

I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be the projection breaking.
"We have entered an infinite recursion of Saber."
That was Saber using the NP.
Shirou just wouldn't let go, cos he's a helicopter parent like that.

I still hope he changes it to beeing original version Caladbolg, it would make the most sense since he ought to have the normal version too if he made the drillsword version, and Caladbolg has this "leaves a rainbow-light-trail and cleaved off a mountaintop" part in its legend which could be interpreted as beamu really easily.
I dont remember that, but i'd think he wouldve tried if he thought he could
What version has that?
Thus it was with that sword, which was the sword of Fergus: The sword of Fergus, the sword of Letè from Faery: Whenever he desired to strike with it, it became the size of a rainbow in the air. Thereupon Fergus turned his hand slantwise over the heads of the hosts, so that he smote the three tops of the three hills,
Aus Feuer ward der Geist geschaffen,
drum schenkt mir süßes Feuer ein!
Die Lust der Lieder und der Waffen,
die Lust der Liebe schenkt mir ein,
der Trauben süßes Sonnenblut,
das Wunder glaubt und Wunder thut!
I just went with what wiki said on it, i dont have the actual myth laround right now
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caladbolg
i did read the material, but i'm still kind in a loss about those + and - on skills.
in NPs, they stand for multiplying the rank described: "A+ = Ax2, A++ = Ax3, EX = too vague or great for numbers"
in attributes, i'm stuck with questions: in f/extra, A+ and A++ would be only "further than A", where if A was 50, A+ would be 60 and A++ 70 (just example numbers, not exactly this).
"-" would be "more next to this rank than the his lesser neighbor, as if E is 10, E- would be closer to 10 than to 0.
finally, was mentioned something like "+ is temporary".
Lu Bu's attributes does have lots of + in attributes that aren't A: C+, B+... this means they're B+x and C+x from mad enhancement or Bx2 Cx2?
in heracles case, even with that high Mad Enhancement, only his STR shows a +, when the description comes with "all parameters up (perhaps with some exceptions like luck and mana)"
and the other case would be the nameless swordsman (aka fake assassin/"kojiro"), or Diarmuid who does have agi A+.
in the materials was so vague, and i had a hard time finding answers in 5k pages of this thread =/
if someone is at ease to comment about this, PMs are welcome; sorry for disturbing.
kinda trying to set some rules for a tabletop rpg system.
+ and - means it's situational.
Examples:
Emiya's Magecraft is C- because he's streamlined towards projection. He will only be half as good at common magecraft stuff because everything he does tries to be swords.
Hakuno's circuit quality is E- because they are terrible, AND only useful for hacking.
Balmung is A+ because it's twice as effective against dragons.
Excalibur is ++ because it's effectiveness is heavily dependent on how much juice she can pour into it. A "safe" excaliblast is A ranked, but she can go as far as triple that big a beam if she absolutely needs to.
Gawain gets + in a bunch of stats because he is a lot stronger at daytime. This makes him exactly as OP as it sounds and is a big plot point in Extra.
Generally the reason for the modifier should be either explained in the skill description or figured out easily, except when it's not.
