See Yokushi's post on how we don't really know what department they were in.
Some notes though, Touko's thing might have been making dolls, but she was specifically hired to help figure out Runes, a seemingly extinct foundation.
Alba had worked at the Clocktower on Runes too.
Inorai uses sand as a catalyst for her magecraft.
Kayneth was Waver's Spiritual Evocation teacher even though he was Lord of Minerology at the time.
"It's a good opportunity, so just let me talk a little longer.
... It was difficult for a girl not yet twenty to study abroad, especially since an Aozaki gets treated like a heretic. In order to enter that place I decided to specialise in rune sorcery. At the time rune wasn't popular, and there were few people studying it. The association side needed a researcher too, so stabilising the rune characters from that side took me 2 years, and another few years to approach the originals in the Tule association, so it may have been about the time I just got my own workroom.
One day, while I was absorbed in making the doll that was my goal, I met that man. Someone who possessed a unique personal history, like originally being a Tamil priest. He was a hellish man. His strong will and tempered shell, it was like an eternally burning drive for achievement."You... were always like that."
That mutter was something that flowed out because he couldn't take it any longer.
"Yes. You were always like that. You always underestimated me like that. I specialized in Rune before you. I was also the one who was famed as a dollmaker, I alone. But those feeble-minded idiots were fooled by that attitude of yours. Your condescending attitude, it gave them the impression that I was inferior to you. It's obvious if you think about it! I'm the director of Suponheim, aren't I? I have spent over forty years as a mage. So why was it that I had to be below a little girl who had just entered her twenties...?!"

Inb4 Odin runes/runes in general are just Velber tech
I feel like it's something that wouldn't work with servants since servants are basically isekai protagonists with cheat skills that don't really exist or are allowed in the modern day anymore.
Now Arcueid just hanging around as a non-servant would matter a lot to Touko so on.
Maybe the opposite of Touko not doing things if Arcueid was around would be like Doctor Heartless giving up on age of gods magic because you can't do heroic spirit into divine spirit hacks in tsukihime?
Do we know if the Grail War that happened in Singularity F was Marisbury and Solomon's or a different one? Or do we just not know either way?
It may mean something or nothing, but when I was re-reading the singularity a couple weeks ago Romani wasn't surprised Artoria was a woman. If anything he seemed to already know.
Random question, but do we ever get a sense that Taiga actually knows that mage things are going on right underneath her nose and that people are hiding things from her, or no? Considering both the Einzbern Consultation Room and the Tiger Dojo skits, I'm not sure what to think. Are jokes deepest lore in this case?
It's probably something they just threw on the wall as they made the game and now they're going to make it retroactively make sense. It has some unique features. On the surface Singularity F comes across as regular HGW5 that went horribly off the rails somehow with the Shadow consuming most of the Servants, but no Master being left alive to make use of the grail. It has:
Saber Artoria (Shirou)
Archer Emiya (Rin)
Lancer Benkei (???????????????????Atram?????????)
Berserker Herc (Illya)
Rider Medusa (Sakura)
Assassin CAHassan (Zouken)
Caster Cu (Bazett)
Gilgamesh does not seem to be present.
This makes sense as its own timeline, but Cu never explains why he wasn't consumed. So if you narrow your eyes, it could be he's not the real Caster summoned into this war, but instead summoned by the Counterforce, or really Odin in disguise or something. The real Caster being Solomon. Cu furthermore does not appear to have a Master and does not have Independent Action.
Incidentally, in the First Order movie, Herc is mysteriously replaced by Darius. Cu beats like 4 of the servants, I guess Herc would have been too much. Oh yeah, and Singularity F Saber Alter in the flashback challenge quests had Defender of Humanity trait. For some reason.

It's good to keep in mind that bunch of Singularity F stuff got retconned in Camelot and SE.RA.PH to make it more relevant to the part 2 story
Wasnt Darius a Rider class to replace Lancerdusa, cuz Cu talks of Zerker that hes still around but they dont need to bother with him

Also, wasnt Davinci unable to tell what a Lostbelt is before it being explained? Maybe Fuyuki's gonna turn out to be a lostbelt singularity...
Another thing bugging me that maybe i missed the explanation, but at the start of Anastasia the Crypters are all like, good thing we destroyed Chaldea, we have 0 defense against Rayshifting, but come SIN, we have Novum Chaldea and Rayshifting but do nothing with it cuz ... we dont know about this supposed rayshift vulnerability?
Or we were never supposed to get rayshifting back but 'muh events' got in the way?
And now with Alien god descended they can just claim the vulnerability gone so we can get singularities like Heian-kyo
What's the difference between the はつこいを巡る冒険 chapter in Mahoyo and the short story bundled with the game? Does the latter add more history aboutHaven't read either yet.Spoiler:
Spoil me.

Something else that may be relevant with Singularity F is that the Babylonia anime depicts Solomon and Marisbury's discussion in a burning Fuyuki (by the bridge). That wasn't in the game, in the game they were in the Grail's cave so Fuyuki's status wasn't known.
Was it the 5th that Solomon won? I always thought it was the 4th, and Fuyuki was what would have been the 5th in that timeline.

Solomon won the 2004 war but it was the first/only war in GO's world. The Zero event is what established that; Romani freaked out when Waver said his world had done it five times.
Wow, I completely forgot that.
But wait, that just raises further questions. Like how did the HGW get off the ground in 2004? Is Justeaze around? Ifs Zouken still a worm monster if his love didn't die so tragically? If they used Fuyuki because the Tohsaka owned it, and they were only considered because they were a student of Zel, is Tokiomi Zel's Student? Or is Rin even more badass than canon? Is Sakura even a Matou in this verse, no HGW means no reason for them to be in Japan at all, nor the decades of close contact between the two families.
Wouldn't it have just been easier to roll with "Goetia happened becasue Angra was an even bigger prick than canon"?

We know Marbars only comes in when he knows the Grail is uncorrupted so that should give some hints.
