because it would seem at first glance that it does the latter. since, from fsn onward, we were told that CGs get summoned to stop things that would destroy humanity - but it has now become established that even if things like that do happen the timeline gets pruned anyway. so what is the point of summoning a CG to stop it?

    h o w e v e r

if it is, as it has been alluded to, the case that the 'agent' which prunes timelines within the realm of human awareness is in some sense 'alaya' itself - then pruning could be considered an 'in extremis' case of the same mechanism which summons CGs. i.e. pruning as something that happens to a world when no potential CG summon would be able to prevent it from going to fuck. one would infer here that a timeline is pruned at that point where it becomes more 'expensive' in terms of 'energy' [whatever is meant when they explain pruning] to nudge it back on course than to maintain it, e.g., by summoning in EMIYA to kill people

which leads us to another possibility, which is that, if timelines where humanity 'does too well' [to grossly abbreviate] are also pruned - is it also the case that a CG would be summoned to stop something which would otherwise bring about a 'utopia' of this kind?

because, if CG summoning occurs for the same reason pruning does, to keep humanity within a certain 'range' on the spectrum of outcomes - then we must admit the possibility that CGs are also summoned to prevent things from getting too good
Well isn't there a line in KnK (or am I remembering Coke-nK) about the CF sometimes stopping things that would bring everyone happiness?

You could also maybe spin it into CG summoning actually actively being the pruning phenomenon. Rather than realities being Thanos snapped, you just summon a CG or intervene in the past to stop the energy going that way in the first place.

Humanity being doomed to eternal perpetuity might also give Araya Souren's "end humanity to determine the point of it all" more weight. But Dullahan is the KnK analyst, im just a hot take.

I remember being mentioned somewhere that Goetia burned human order specifically because it produced much more energy than burning the actual entire planet.
He burned it like five million times mind, so.

Wasn't that just because there's more energy from burning three thousand years worth of Earth than there is from burning it just once? It's paradoxical time travel bullshit, obviously, but the gist seemed to be that there was simply more energy from burning more stuff.

Don't all other lifeforms in the planet, who have their own awarenesses, enough as to vote on what to do with humankind, greatly outnumber human beings, by a wide margin?

Why wouldn't burning them along with the whole planet produce more energy than burning just mankind?

Animals are grey territory. Dogs might be more human than Gaia, for one.

The mesopotamian gods didn't fight Sefar, right? Does this mean that they didn't degrade into divine spirits and were actual gods, at least during Gilgamesh's time?

Do we know if the deities absorbed by Arjuna were true gods or divine spirits?

Nah, they were still Divine Spirits by Gil's time. I mean, look at the gods in Babylonia.

Was there ever a reason given for why Circe and Medea have elf ears when no other Greeks do?

I thought it had to do with their Divinity? I mean, Semiramis also has elf ears.

Or Achilles or the Gorgons or any other divine Greek Servants

I forgot about Semiramis but then we look at other Mesopotamians and it's only her again

Circe and Semiramis seem to have been designed to invoke of Medea to some degree, that's all the explanation there is for it most likely.

Skilled magic user from ancient times = Elf is the likely logic behind it. Makes even more sense for Semiramis as her design is very fantasy-like.

I think the real signifier of Divinity is red eyes, but even that isn't absolute.

    Semiramis does look quite elf-like.

Which is kind of weird thinking back since we know now that the Olympians are Transformers, so wouldn't Herc get a wings or thrusters or something? Unless those spikes are an attempt to make a rocketpunch/pilebunker on an organic being?

Watching that CP episode after the Olympus reveals felt surreal to say the least.
