The Ex rank in the Nasuverse just means that there is no standard to compare it against. Think of it like weights, Ex does not (necesarilly) mean "Oh God they broke the scale!" it's more like "We don't have any counter weights heavy enough to measure it." (Well except for other EX stuff.)

There was some stuff going around about Reinforce acting like a cat or a dog while in book form......

When Shirou woke up with the Book of Darkness open on top of his face he thought nothing of it, it wasn't the first time he fell asleep reading it and there was a few times that he woke up in exact same position.
He lifted it off, closed it, put it on the floor and got up for school.
Only to find the book seemingly wrapped around his right ankle.
That was new....
He tugged on it, finding that the pages were intentionaly clurling around his leg in effort to persuade him to stop. Shirou was nothing but determined. He wasn't going to let a book of all things beat him.
He got it off with much hopping on one foot. He looked at it, wondering just what was going on....
Only for the book to open at a blank page, which then lifted itself upwards, brushing Shirou's face from chin to forehead.
Shirou had a rather unusual feeling that he had just been licked somehow.....

I'd imagine the book would be more huggy/clingy than licky, given it's Reinforce there.

Here, let me help you: After Shirou becomes the captain of the Kyudo Club, Taiga deiced to hold certain club meetings ( meetings, ect. ) at his house ( because she can show off her own cook that way, and she can hang out with Zaffy without drawing to much attention). Thus Shirou's house gets visited by club members at least once a week, and one of the junior male members kinda asks Shirou to hide his porn mags that he and his friends bought in a game of dare.
Too bad the kid hides them under a certain thick old book in Emiya-sempai's room.
