Wow, I had no idea how much I missed what Nico used be like. The opening, more so than the episode itself, got me feeling that really hard. The typical Yoasobi magic with character-based lyrics, I guess. Speaking of the opening, there's some really unexpected choices. No Miharu for the first 13 episodes is weird but not exactly unexpected, but there one of the title shots based on the bread magic from Kurowa's debut chapter and there's no way this was before Miharu joined. Just including Kurowa in the first opening at all already feels insane.

Oh yeah, and that flashback with half of Morihito's house destroyed is something that hasn't been addressed yet, right?

I'm pretty sure the destroyed house is supposed to be Nico's, when she had an outburst as a kid which made her dad leave. When they last see each other as kids they're standing in front of it iirc

Danjou: The Boy-Girl Friendship did not, in fact, survive. Himari was all over the place this episode. If only she was a little less mixed with her messages. Fun episode; can't wait for the next episode.

Pokemon: It's so funny how Roy just pulls Liko away while Ult starts talking. Isn't it sad, Ult?
Shoushimin: Urino's so dead, lol. Osanai's gonna watch him explode and savor every second of it. I can't believe that Jogoro is a triple-cucked loser. Actually the biggest twist in the series.

Ranger Reject: Green Battalion's great. I dig how they adapted Hisui's shadowed form. A few bits trimmed here and there, but so far nothing as major as season 1.

Fire Force Season 3 Episode 1: It took forever, but Fire Force is finally back.

I went to a bookstore awhile ago and looked at the back of the volume where I thought the anime stopped at and it said that the White Clad and the army were working together. I didn't believe it, but it's really happening. Right when he was giving his report, the military with two White Clad goons took Captain Obi.

And now the White Clad have the Company 1 working alongside them too. At the very least, Captain Burns is with them, Kareem and the others seemed like they their heads on straight.

The kidnapping is part of the White Clad's plan to lure Shinra to them. And with Company 8 going to rescue Captain Obi, they're going to get what they want.

I did not like that last scene though...

Gundam: Machu/Shuji real, she blushed at the pretty boy and they connected on a deep level. LMAO at her getting baited into Clan Battle because someone said she couldn't do it. And Nyaan's misfortune and bullying. It's really funny how the Zeons just flew the ship in. I can't wait for the inevitable drama of Machu's mom being government and Machu being a criminal.

My guess is Mom's going to be in the office when one of Machu's fights breaks out in the area and she gets collateral'd, along with the rest of the government making and even more Zeon police state.

Danjou: Himari is very cute. Fun how she can't hide her tears and pain at all no matter how hard she tries. I really expected Yu to reveal he was joking with quitting school, though.
Shoushimin: God, I can't wait for Urino to eat shit. His reckless ego's incredibly annoying. It's already funny how he lost two dudes from his patrols but I want to see more suffering. Also LMAO at Jogoro getting wiped off of the face of the earth by Tokiko. He's such a terrible boyfriend.
Pokemon: Ayyyyyy catfight. Liko met her match. It's great that Mollie's coming back next episode.

Fire Force ep 4: Still enjoying the spinning how various superpowers are somehow fire/heat-based. Return of the nude-calendar gag was funny and some attempt at equal-opportunity fmanservice. Nice seeing Lisa come back for a clutch after her just being Vulcan's sidekick/waifu for a while. But animation feels a bit stilted to past seasons and pacing just bizarre at times. Shinra, Joker and Burns are supposedly having this intense fight, but everytime we cut back they're just standing and talking. Joker: "We need to beat him before he gets too strong." Cut back to them still standing and talking, while Burns powers up. I don't know how the manga handled this but it does not work.

Ranger Reject: It's interesting in an academic way seeing the passion of the staff fight against the imposed limits of the production. Hopefully the staff wins. As for the actual episode, Green Battalion good, news at 11. Bless Negi's ability to draw pretty ladies.
Witch Watch: I completely forgot about that creepy dress. Funny hearing Vlad out of it. Kan's a fun addition to the cast.

There's so much passion in Ranger Reject that you don't see other shows often even try. Interacting with subtitles, messing with scene transitions, and a bunch of little flourishes that you know they didn't need that they put in just to give the show character. Too bad the OP and ED aren't nearly the bops of last season, even if the visuals are still on point.
