Keikenchi found dead in a ditch
Maybe it's me being old fashioned, maybe it's me who basically somewhat(but not completely) grew out of the lifestyle but I've never been a fan of basically shitting on someone for ultimately just wanting to stick with a gacha because they like what comes with it, Fate or not.
I pretty much left Honkai Star Rail because of many reasons, least of which some of the reasons why I still stick with FGO even now. And honestly, I have seen people throw away money, pride and otherwise on all sorts of other knick-knacks and otherwise that would literally be worthless with the next technological wonder like iPhones, Stereos, Shoes and otherwise so it becomes kinda hard for me to understand why it's suddenly PNGs that are the real problem here. Would it be better if someone spent thousands every year for the state of the art iPhone? Car? Shoes?
As others stated, Fate has never moved on from it's "necessity" of sex scenes, it just doesn't do them explicitly and very, very much still has that on the table.I've always found this point so bloody infantile it's almost embarrassing. The franchise has moved past it's necessity for sex scenes to sell it's products for at least a decade now, even putting aside that the rereleases and remakes of old products have cut out the sex scenes, literally what does it matter that it started out as an eroge when the hundreds of spin offs that came after are not? Hentai that came as a result of it, is irrelevant to the product itself and just exists for the sake of your jacking off to it.
It only downplays it unless it's warranted for the scenes itself as otherwise, it's just in the background or a quick mention. Besides, if you seen the type of gachas that I have seen(Brown Dust 2, Horizon Walker and the actual R18+), Nasu and Co. hasn't even remotely tried going as deep as they really could have nor is FGO even as bad as those as it's just winks, nods, implications and some girls having skimpy Ascension Art.
1. I'm not shitting on him for still enjoying the game. My own initial response to this thread was pretty lukewarm and I honestly don't think this thread with it's vague doomer prompt even needed to exist. Outside of my scheduled breakdown periods, I'm pretty apathetic unless they're especially incompetent. I'm shitting on him for being an pretentious corporate shill who is acting as if he's enlightened for being the lowest common denominator that keeps this game afloat.
2. Putting a disclaimer that I don't even like shit likeapple products and partaking in excessive waste just for the heck of it is bad, I need you to be so fucking serious and not being comparing shoes, cars and phones, shit that has actual practical use in your day to day lives, to bloody PNGs that you can download for free off Google images.
3. Being horny, an affliction that assails most popular Japanese writers, and being an eroge, are two different things. Also I do not care about the other borderline porn gachas, my point is that no matter how much bigger Wada draws BB's breasts, how little clothes Jack is wearing or how "big, hot and heavy" Bryn's spear gets when she interacts with a wonderful and noble hero, most of TMs output doesn't and hasnt needed the kind of sex being born from an actual eroge entails. And the stupid "well FSN was eroge" always comes up to excuse stupid shit that not even it engaged in. Also once more this was brought up in the first place to brag about Hentai numbers being relevant to FGO's grand success when even fucking kid franchises with no fanservice like precure has porn!

I'm honestly struggling to remember Keikenchi being casually horny, I guess Takasugi propositioning sex a few times would count, but he's so blunt about it that it's weirdly sexless

Why do you and Kirishima feel the need to bully someone for having a substantial opinion which is not your own? And with hurtful homophobic rhetoric, no less?
I was under the impression that this forum had a no-tolerance policy for things like that. I suppose it simply doesn't apply when it's being done in service of complaining about how [thing] isn't Tsukihime.
Yes, you are. Most of you people have an unfortunate tendency to think calling someone a cocksucking retard for their (decidedly unremarkable) opinions on a video game is acceptable rhetoric.
Wat
With the reopening of the thread, let's leave the topic of Ubergeneral's life choices aside, yeah?
Does this thread needs to be re open tho?
At the very least, I feel it could have a re branding, or just a new thread, asking about other fgo-related things.
When you felt the most despair while playing FGO?
When you had the most fun plating FGO? And the least fun.
When you felt the horniest while playing FGO?
Woah, this was reopened. Why?
You are not immune to propoganda, probably.

If I step back and take a more enlightened view of things, then it's actually great that the people in charge of fgo are incompetent and lazy. If they were hellbent on optimising their mobage in order to extract the most possible revenue from the highest number of people and make number go up, preferably forever, then that would be bad, or at least in some ways worse than what we have now. Gambling destroys lives. I should be happy that they're hopeless at running a casino.
But I'm not actually enlightened, and I happen to be a big fan of number going up forever. I have a childish attachment to the idea of type moon being number one. I want them to be number one. I want to live in a world where they are number one. The fact that I do not mildly disappoints me, like a disappointed father.
Their business practice of leaving gold on the table through sheer laziness irritates me and I cannot look too deeply into the current state of fgo without grinding my teeth. As such, I would describe my own personal "hope" as "type moon continuing to be number one at this particular evil", and the last time I felt it would be when lasengle took over and they made all those belated QoL improvements.
I don't think TM has ever been number one in that regard. Like... not even close. Though I do think plenty of stuff is being done to make number go up for as long as possible. Even if it is a rather inefficient and lazy way of going about it.
I have no doubt in my mind the main reason Part 2 isn't over yet is because they want to keep making money off of that hook, and so they keep padding it with filler and longer times between main chapter releases. OC is the most blatant example, but so are Traum and Heian-Kyo, that feature "main plot beats" that could've easily been part of the surrounding LBs. If this story were allowed its natural pace, Part 2 woulda been over at least 2 years ago.
So why do they pad it? Cuz they're not confident number will keep going up once the finale is paid off, especially if Mushroom man rly leaves the role of main writer for the scenario.
Despite being 10 years old, FGO still makes tens of millions dollars a year. This is more than enough to keep the game running. But The Great Stall is so irritating, let's hope the second part of this year won't be a desert.

I wish they had taken the opportunity of Ordeal Stall to update old servants animations or do big gameplay revamps and changes but nope, it's literally just stalling to end Part 2 while doing nothing to improve the game in the mean time.
There's something to be said still that even at this state most devoid of content, FGO is still pulling competitive revenue numbers comparable or even surpassing other tryhard gachas with "actual gameplay" or those with blatant wankbait. I think trying to optimize things for the sole pursuit of profit is paradoxically not the best way to be on top of the market, and FGO's successes can't really be attributed to corpo maxxing.
Ultimately, I don't think both Type-Moon's and FGO's current momentum in the ACG or Gacha market can really be attributed to their business competency, but just a general trend with the stagnating Japanese economy being slowly devoured whole by China lol.
If you want me to be frank, it feels like people tend to forget about a few key issues here when they try and consistently bring up that Lasengele/TYPE-Moon isn't "trying hard enough":
1. While yes, they potentially have fixed the problem of their staff being gone and needing to fill up on them and get the budget to afford them and finally get themselves on some level of track back and not take years to get a move on... but that doesn't mean it's going from 0 to an immediate 100 either. It's absolutely going to take them time to even begin to work on Servant animations, extra shit people asked for for years as well as also trying to have their climax of Part 2 while also doing extra setup for Part 3 because we know FGO isn't ending anytime soon.
2. It's extremely difficult to fix or even optimize code for the fashion that FGO JP has done it because... FGO JP was made when TYPE-Moon had no idea how to format code for Mobile and it's been something they have consistently stated is a huge problem now because all of FGO JP's code is built upon that very crappy code, no matter how well they can optimize anything else. The most you can say is they can potentially find loopholes around it but they ain't basically fixing the issue without making an FGO2.
3. If people really want to know the answer of why FGO still makes money to this day? It was able to create it's own audience that will stick by it just like Dokkan Battle and just like Monster Strike. It's the same fashion why you would have people still play certain consoles even if console exclusives are no longer a thing or other similar nonsense with certain fandoms. Once you hook a person for good, they are basically fans for life. This is especially funny considering how people think that someone can't just play FGO AND Genshin Impact or the other MiHoyo titles or WuWa at the same time, especially as FGO requires nowhere near the same commitment as other gachas do(and by that, I mean having a genuine endgame or basically hose you with events and so on) which some would take as a plus(Especially when FGO's greatest strengths don't require you to go through endgame to do so).
Tsugumi is pro-capital confirmed.
Indeed, the only relevant market and industries of this nature is increasingly assimilated into China these days. Most Japanese enterprises aren't even close to the level where Chinese businesses are taking as much gold on the ACG table as possible. One could even frame Ordeal Stall as an analogy for the Japanese market while most of the innovation is happening on the Chinese side.
This is of course leaving out the most profitable franchise in the world, although I'm sure that would warrant its own thread of: When was the last time you felt hope for Pokemon?
