    Juicy Metatron and Angel lores:
    Spoiler:

    **"Judge, judge, judge."**
**"Sent from heaven, with this body,**
    **I shall judge mankind."**

**"You who stand at the apex of primates, as kings of creatures."**
    **"Yet you have erred—"**
**"Fatally, fatefully, you have strayed from the path."**
**"The result is this bleached earth."**
**"The blank slate of our planet."**

**"This sin has forced my hand."**
**"Not a single one of our deeds held meaning."**
**"Not a single one was correct."**
**"Then what purpose does my manifestation serve now?"**
    **"The answer is simple."**
**"To block the path to heaven."**

**"All of humanity — descend into this purgatory, into hell."**
    **"Punishment and penance, forevermore."**
**"Keep atoning. For that is all you are worthy of."**

    ---

    **"Metatron…?"**

*"I recall reading something about it in the archives…"*

    **Kadoc:**
*"Wait, wait, hold on—let’s all take a breath first."*
*"...Ritsuka, do you know what Metatron* ***is***?"*

    **"I don’t."**

    **Kadoc:**
*"...Well, it’s an angel, not a Heroic Spirit. Out of my usual scope, so I guess that’s fair."*

    **Kadoc:**
*"So, should I go ahead and explain Metatron?"*

    *"Yet magi use their names*
    *to structure their magecraft."*

Sort of wondering how the old lore about True Demons being Fallen Angels works now.

I saw his silhouette in one of the scenes I skimmed through so he’s like somewhat brought up kinda.

Hm, the thing here is they keep saying “they have a different definition in the world of magecraft” and not “that’s not what they actually are”. Could it be that “Angel Metatron in a magecraft context” is just different from “Metatron from the Bible” and not that Metatron from the Bible doesn’t exist?

Yeah that’s my interpretation too. There may have been a real Metatron and Angels, but they are impossible to summon. Instead what we get are mystic codes bearing their names.

You know i am thinking something in this kind.
Actually I forget how important Solomon is for magecraft. So angels being vessels—containers to channel power. Might fully be his design here.

I kind like a lot how aliens angels seem to be.

I mean considering Moriarty is here and Lilith masquerades as Irene Adler, plus from the TVCM it looks like we even revisit the Holmes study, it would be weird if the man himself didn’t even get a single mention.

Man, Mashu's new class ruins a thing I liked to do with Fate's classes. I enjoyed associating each Servant Class to a D&D class (specifically, 4th edition ones, it has what I consider the best roster), and Paladin was my Saber equivalent. Lilith was right, Mashu needs to be eliminated!

Yes, that is exactly it, you got it. And I mean that in a non-ironical way. The whole premise is flawed. That is the actual point of this chapter.
I'm honestly, genuinely surprised that I got it right the first time. But now I'm not sure why Ritsuka would still accept the verdict, mitigated as it is. Wouldn't the struggle of fighting CHALDEAS and living with the consequences of their actions be its own punishment? It does both make amends for the act of genocide (regardless of how tortured its definition is in this case) and addresses their guilt. Come to think of it, if Kirei is telling the whole truth and there isn't actually some way to work around this supposed reset that'll mean the crime itself will have never happened at all- the Root might have recorded it, but as far as everyone that's actually involved is concerned it will be as if nothing ever happened.

(Which honestly doesn't sit well with me either. It solves the problem of the crime, but only at the expense of completely undoing everyone's development in the process and denying the beings who would not be able to exist in any other circumstances a change at being alive - and not just the ones in the Lostbelts, but people like Jeanne Alter Santa Lily, BB and the Sakura Five, and so on. Regardless of your own feelings about all those people, I can't imagine Ritsuka being fine with it even if he could be persuaded of its necessity.)

So he's not forgotten! There's hope. The closer we got to OC4 the less I was sure he would appear so all in all this is a good outcome, assuming I like what I read when I get to it. Of course, I'm not ready to get to the Kadoc part.

    Spoiler:
I've been emotionally preparing myself for Kadoc to die for years, but I expected it would happen in Antartica, not fucking now.

This is the easiest literary device to use to solve problems when writers write themselves into a corner. That's the only explanation.

Honestly it’s happened over such a long period of time due to the LB saga’s length that it’s a bit difficult to put into perspective, but Kadoc’s character evolution really was a very cool one to see play out.

Given that OC 4 is of comparable length to LB 7 and that nobody has finished it, perhaps the peanut gallery members in here can take a step back and start using the sensory organs in their bodies called eyes to start reading the subject matter of this thread instead of defecating out all of their preconceived notions on the table here. Do you want your food chewed for you with one liner spoiler summaries or are you actually illiterate?

I also think Kadoc's death is lazy writing. They want to cut the cast so badly but they chose the laziest method.

I think my favorite character is actually Pepe but I hold Kadoc dear to my heart because of how far he's come on the journey with us. He feels irreplaceable.

It's amazing really how you managed to phrase an extremely necessary message in the worse possible way.

Still reading through it so apologies if this comes up again later but what was up with that mystery Chaldea member who NEET Jeanne was talking to who then showed up in Mashu's dream? Seemed suspicious that Marisbury's silhouette became his there.
