Would it be possible if an extremely powerful magus created a homunculus and used it as a vessel for a Divine Spirit that normally couldn't be summoned in a Holy Grail War? Or would it just fail miserably?
If possible, would it be interesting if said magus summoned, say, Thor, or Sgathaich, or any other Divine Spirit one can think of etc., and then participated in a Holy Grail War only to get betrayed by the homunculus who somehow developed more of a consciousness due to the nature of the summoning, among other things, and the story would follow this homunculus as it coped with dealing with a sort of split between itself and the Divine Spirit sharing the same body and mind, or something like that, anyway?
Would it be worth a read?
If the magus could summon a Divine Spirit to begin with he wouldn't have to participate in a Holy Grail War.
Have you read Apocypha? Something like that is going on.
eeeeeeeeh not quite, also thats only a Heroic Spirit.
Why do you need a Divine Spirit? As mentioned prior, any magus who could summon one wouldn't require the Holy Grail (since the Holy Grail is incapable of summoning Divine Spirits).
If you're appealing to the divide between a "newborn" homunculus and a far greater spirit, then a Heroic Spirit is adequate for the sheer scale of difference between existences. Besides, when two souls inhabit a body, the stronger one wins, so if the Heroic Spirit has been directly summoned into the homunculus as opposed to the circumstances in Apocrypha, then the homunculus yields his body and dies.
How about an Apocrypha sequel where Astolfo, Gordes' son and his homunculus harem try to travel to the other side of the world
That's love!
Not really.
It'd be fun. Road Trip the Anime

Damn, sniped
I've planning on it very soon.
Hm. Let me try and be a bit more precise on the idea (or put a different spin to it, if you will):
The Servant would be Sgathaich (Is she considered Divine or Heroic? I was assuming Divine). The magus who wishes to summon her found the perfect host but that host died a few years before, thus he creates a homunculus resembling the original host as accurately as possible with their original memories and personality intact along with false ones to fill in the time gap for the homunculus (for whatever reason). The summoning is successful but due to Sgathaich's disapproval of the magus the would-be Master is offed. As for the host and Sgathaich sharing the same body the original host's will is so strong it manages to repel Sgathaich's for a few brief moments, whereupon Sgathaich takes a liking of them and decides to let them share the homunculus body. Sgathaich assumes her role as the Servant and the original host as the Master, both through the same body.
There's more to it, but anyway... From what you all are saying this is already a thing in Fate/Apocrypha?

Siegfried shoves his heart into a Homunculus and the Homunculus gains a set of Command Spells that let him transform into Siegfried for 180 seconds.
Your first issue is that Scáthach isn't dead. Nor should she be either a Heroic or Divine Spirit - to keep guard on the Land of Shadows, she transcended humanity to become a monster.

Just go read some of it yourself for some ideas before we spoil everything for you on this thread.
Mighty Morphin' Siegmonculus manages to be one of the best and worst things of Apocrypha. It's kind of impressive.
But the mechanics of your pitch are a little wonky. Someone who has a Divine Spirt on tap wouldn't need to waste him time on a puny little Grail War, and like Seika said, she's not dead to summon anyway.
Any reason why you can't just use a regular heroic spirit?
She could be summoned by the Player in OG Strange Fake.
So hey theres a precedent!
