I know they can't, but they can still do other stuff, and they can certainly cause me to get myself banned for arguing with their bullshit.
Right, tobias. Not worth it.
Anyway, I disagree with Mike on Alf not being a candidate. He might be biased, yes- But he's fair, and I don't think he would do something like that. Regardless, Froggie is right in that Alf does not have a lot of time on his hands, and thus should not be bothered.
IMHO, Leo is the best candidate. He's got time, he's got the seriousness, and he's got the patience. His location doesn't matter, because I've seen him be logged in for very long amounts of time. Also, he has shown little bias, instead doing what he could to maintain order and control the situation. Definitely mod material to me.

I honestly have to agree with Koto here, I don't think that Leo would be very suited for the job. Mainly because of what happened in the Reunion.
Alf is heavily biased and I have not seen any sign of "fairness". If he is appointed as a mod I will basically have to quit the forum entirely, because I simply cannot work with him or trust him to take that position, and if he tried to moderate me I would get banned for arguing with him or flaming him because I simply do not trust his judgement. I avoid his games for this reason (even though I would quite like to play Heaven's Gate), but I cannot avoid his modding.
To me, the very fact that even one forumite opposes it this strongly should be sufficient to deny it. A mod doesn't have to be liked by everyone, but they cannot be hated by anyone. And, I'm not the only one, either. I believe that Lantz has him on ignore and, again, making him a mod would prevent that.
I disagree entirely. The way he acted in the Reunion RP was absolutely disgraceful and highly biased against me and Lantz. Further, I've never seen him "maintain order" in any useful manner, or control anything.IMHO, Leo is the best candidate. He's got time, he's got the seriousness, and he's got the patience. Meh, Leo was by no means the organizer of that or the one who tried to actively seek conflict. He just tried to think of a measure to keep order. And one person can't be judged by one incident alone, at least in this case, where one could've perfectly made a mistake.
TBH, I'm sick and tired of people using Reunion as the only excuse. I mean, god, one incident and you're all going "no wai"? Please, in my RP there were a lot of discussions, discussions which never rose into a shitstorm and managed to quell themselves, without me even becoming aware they happened before one of the players told me. This means that they have managed to keep their cool many times, outnumbering by far the Reunion incident.
In my opinion, judging a person's skills because of one incident only is a sign of real prejudice. Sorry Mil, but I can't agree with you on this.

That isn't the only thing I've seen. He tends to be highly biased against people he doesn't like and that usually ends up making them worse in the long run.

Against Mike and Lantz as an example.

So, it's prejudiced to judge people by their actions...? I don't think so.

In what way was starting a competing RP "keeping order"?
Perhaps (and I know that the existing mods have made mistakes before), but the way he handled that was extremely unfair and totally undiplomatic. And one person can't be judged by one incident alone, at least in this case, where one could've perfectly made a mistake.
The fact that he can have rational discussions does not make him a good mod. Mods have to be able to deal with everyone, not only people they like.TBH, I'm sick and tired of people using Reunion as the only excuse. I mean, god, one incident and you're all going "no wai"? Well, OK, then, give some examples of why he would make a good mod. Actual concrete ones.In my opinion, judging a person's skills because of one incident only is a sign of real prejudice. Sorry Mil, but I can't agree with you on this.
No, but it is a significant black mark against him. If he was a clearly outstanding candidate, then maybe overlooking it would be a good idea, but I've yet to see anything that makes him stand out from any other candidates.

I'm pretty sure he meant one action (Reunion) isn't enough to judge someone's character, not talking about multiple actions.
Everyone loses their cool now and then, and I'm sure even the mods have.
Although I haven't read that Reunion incident so I'm not sure how serious it is.
