I've been to a forum where calling someone a troll was against the rules. (Since if they were actually trolling you were supposed to report them instead of replying, and if they weren't actually trolling you're just being a dick)

The logic behind that I can see, although actually making it against the rules seems overkill.

I have been to one of those actually, I actually got a year long warning, which has a 3 strike auto perm ban policy on it for telling someone not to feed trolls. I still go to that forum, and even though it's expired now, the warning still shows up on my account as a major infraction.


All in all though, to much action is probably preferable to not enough.

Honestly, that's just plain Orwellian.

I do not at all agree with the idea of preventing people from expressing their viewpoints on what someone says, and nor is it sensible to force every single minor instance of trolling (of which there are a lot) to be reported to the mods and then probably ignored).

And, Type, you were trolling, so I don't see what you're complaining about....

All in all though, to much action is probably preferable to not enough.

No, no, it really isn't. I'd rather have the occasional troll around than a forum where everyone is too frightened of the mods to speak.

To be fair, he may not have been trolling so much as technically stating what a homunculus is. I'm pretty sure that's in the definition, no matter how much Iri behaves differently from the norm.
