    Hair sprite belongs to me. The body is from MapleStory.



    Does anyone have any advice on how to make the hair look better and less blocky?

    I think the contrast is too sudden, maybe. Switch the shading color to something lighter, or add an intermediate shade in between?

    I'm not sure which borders you guys are referring to though. The shades look the way typical anime ones do, and the lines are supposed to demarcate different areas definitely (according to the tutorial I read...).

    Maybe you could try shading over my pic and show me which parts? o.0
