They did a magnificent job save for one thing. They forgot the engravings on the blade.
I like vampires, but I won't let them monopolize the naked cape: http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=p...iew&id=2856554
Very cool. That reminds me, need to finish the piece I was working on...
A few thoughts/questions come to mind.
1. Balance? That is one big, heavy chunk of metal for the crossguard, which normally is not a very big or substantial item. Countering that with a heavy pommel as they've done does weird things to the pivot points and nodes...
2. How did they attach the pommel? Doesn't look like the tang goes through the pommel to be peened on the end, as would have been done historically.
3. What kind of enamel did they use? A number of the copper alloys create issues with typical enamel materials, and I searched all over the internet trying to find something that would work with the brass I was working with, and the only stuff I could find was no longer in production...
One must know the path one runs even if the ground underfoot is not as one chooses
It's not bad. Its problems are: the blade tapers too much, the crosguard is not the right shape, it's too blue and there's no engraving.
Good stuff Skit!
