Surely there's some other skill you could think of? Cooking? Water magecraft? Absorption? Ethelite mindhack? Soul projection? Probabilities? Flight? Structural deconstruction? Projection (to-racesu on!)? Genetics? Body/organ altering? Language magecraft?

You could also work on some kind of mental ability? Other than reading minds or altering minds, which are already powerful if you can specialize in them, there's many other aspects to go into? Illusions? Bounded fields/wards, maybe, that could certainly be useful?

And I mean, even if Fishie has the Mystic Code, it's not like it can be used by all of us at the same time, right? And you could definitely expand on its powers.
But I like the idea of deconstruction. If there's a constructor, there has to be a deconstructor. And not just a make-stuff-die deconstructor, because that's flashy and sometimes lame.

Well, most of those don't seem powerful enough to get me into the team, and the remaining ones are either pretty much already covered (why would we need projection when we have Leo...) or don't really fit with my character.

Mind reading is powerful, but I don't think it's enough by itself to make me a useful member of the team. Mind altering is certainly also powerful, but we already have it, at least in part.

I might be able to use mental abilities, but I am struggling to work out how to make myself worthwhile actually recruiting, especially given the ring.

Illusions? Bounded fields/wards, maybe, that could certainly be useful?

Well, something like that could be useful, but it doesn't fit well with my character type.

What have you eliminated from your list anyway?

Well, everything Leo has covered, certainly. Which removes most of the areas which my character would naturally specialise in.

I probably can think of something, but it's going to take a bit longer now, because my original idea doesn't work any more....

True, but unless you're Shirou projection is very limited, and further it's something that essentially any half-decent magus can do to a reasonable level.

I feel I should mention that Araneus can do onsite construction, but at the same time it's mostly limited to making more of his spider constructs, unless he can find whatever materials he needs at his location.

@ Fishie: Ne, Fishfish. Would you like me to send you a list of his various spider models, or should I only give you each model when they're used in the RP?

Just make a limit of how many different kinds of spiders models you have. Say... 10 or something. And then you can develop more as we go along.
