The ambiguity inherent in the word "Heroic" creates a lot of confusion, some of which is probably thematically intentional. (Amusingly, the Extra translation's use of "Legendary Soul" doesn't solve the problem, because it leads to the sentence "Not all Legendary Souls are famous.")

We are spirits in the material world~
^ still wouldn't solve the problem, technically.
'Epic' isn't solely good unlike 'heroic' but it generally is used in such a sense, just like how people usually associate the 'ei' with 'eiyuu'. Well, that and Britain.
An Epic isn't a little thing.
What about guys like Robin Hood or Hassan, then? That was my point. An extended narrative poem in elevated or dignified language, celebrating the feats of a legendary or traditional hero.
I'm fairly certain Nasu has been clear about Hassan's not Heroic Spirit status so that one is fine.
Araya, what do you seek?
「アラヤ、何を求める」
------True wisdom.「――――真の叡智を」
Araya, where do you seek it?「アラヤ、何処に求める」
Only within myself.「――――ただ、己が内にのみ」
Araya, what is your favorite color?「アラヤ、好きな色は?」
Blue. No, ora-- Auuuuuuuugh!「青、いや、オレンジイイイイイアアアっ!」
I mean, if we use the term "Epic Spirits" (=spirits with an Epic) to describe "those" that can be summoned in a HGW (corrupted by AM or not), guys like Robin or Hassan shouldn't be eligible (since they don't really have an Epic).
I'd go for Legendary Souls, if not just Heroic Spirits because.
Heroic Spirit sounds best anyway.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.

Totally gonna start using some of these in coming updates.
PS: someone needs to render SN and Zero into leetspeak. And preferably have it be spoken aloud by Sam a la Saber H-scene.
