It's because the programmers made a mistake when designing the fight. Lucifer when in Angel form is very very susceptible to ice. Didn't you see that Lucifer's lifebar barely dropped when he was in dark form? The guys there were spamming ice castings to make the fight short. You'll go through a lot more suffering if you don't bring an Ice demon with you.

You do realize that "good" and "evil" aren't concepts that really apply to mainline SMT right? Neither side is innately good or bad, it's just different ways of looking at the world and different methods of solving problems. Mind you Lucifer is amoral and a complete douchebag. He'll be nice if it suits him though. (Or rather being amoral, chaotic and a douchebag is no reason for bad manners. lol)
And this is just speculation on my part but I think Louis and FSN!Kirei would get along well. Considering that one of their hobbies is giving people a little push then sitting back and watching the domino effect.

Yes, most definitely, good old Louis and mr. Pretty would be BBF. The catch? Luci would also encourages Kiritsugu. About Sakura... I can see Luci giving her power if she desires to get free, but then I can see him giving another one power just to troll her. Maybe Rin, if he can manage to convince her that Sakura went nuts and must be killed, just to get the better sister for his plans against the Absolute One. And if he does that few years later, I can see him trying the same, but with Shirou of all people.
By the way, this may be relevant for the topic:
If in any given moment I meet something like that in one of the games, I may very well run far from the console.
About that fight in Raidou II... for me that seems far too easy. In DS Lucifer was so hard that being at level 99 wasn't enough to make the battle a bit easier. If you guys say that Gaea Rage is even worse...
That aside, my fav demon in Strange Journeys was an Angel I managed to craft, inspired in the Angel one guy put in GameFaqs. Having maxed augments in stats, Victory Cry and Jihad. How that it sounds to you, guys?

Yeah, I remember it from one of his artwork books. It's so difficult to find scans of them now, since Dokungaryu went down. I swear to God, that site was so wonderful. Had I known it was going down, I would have backed up every single art book.
And, yes, Gaea Rage is worse, Ergast.

Demi-Fiend is still, to date, the strongest hidden boss in any SMT game or spin-off. That fight is long, drawn out, and depends so much on luck, that even if you run the strategy perfectly, chances are that you will still die.
You practically need the stars to be right to have a hope of winning...
I saw a video where, before the protagonist side, maxed out level, even had a chance to act, the Demi-Fiend's demons wiped out the whole party.
With auto-kill darkness spells.
