No, it's an imperfect replica of Excalibur. Also, the thing he has in his pocket is Rin's gem. He does that regularly throughout F/sn.

Loved that last bit of banter at the end. Such great interaction, it makes me sad that this was the last installment of the fic.
For this second half I was at first disappointed that Kiritsugu and Kiri wouldn't be the ones to finish up what was started all those years ago. But this last chapter made up for that initial apprehension, even though the first half of the story will without a doubt remain my favorite part of Death and Justice. Rochus's power, heh, that's something HAX on the level of Toaru magics, and the application of it in battle was enjoyable to read about. It also reminded me of the ability that the main character of Big Order has, only without the Stand expy required to activate it, to say nothing of the obvious differences between the Yukiteru/Lelouch fusion that the MC of that manga is.
As others have said before, the banter at the end was probably the highlight of the chapter for me. Just because Shiki and Shirou can work together doesn't necessarily mean they'll start seeing eye-to-eye with each other, especially so since Nasu in those interviews all that time ago said that they'd likely butt heads if they ever met.
Plus, y'know, Caren being Caren is always a treat to read. And the crack about her being underage made me laugh because its true.

If I ever get this Rin x Shiki story that's in my head up to spec, there will probably be more interactions. Only characterization will go in reverse since Shiki is being the martyr and Shirou is post-HF.

I have to agree with everyone here, I really enjoyed this last update. Caren is usually a win, and I feel not many people actually do Tsukihime characters justice...

Secret to writing Tsuki characters:
Shiki: The less he talks, the more badass he is.
Arc: All things are relevant to how bored she is.
Ciel: Only sane woman. Also, responsibility.
Akiha: Focus on pride-aspect of tsundereness.
Hisui: Actually the boke to Kohaku's tsukkomi, but has a complete straight face.
Kohaku: Overcompensating genki. Go overboard with it.
