The writer of CG apparently thought R2 was a trainwreck (apparently he was forced to scrap the entire original plot between CG and R2) and he ended up proclaiming that he wouldn't direct another anime. So far he hasn't done anything with anime since 2009 (and he said that was because it was already set in stone because of contracts).Originally Posted by Aladar
But yeah, original plan for R2 sounds interesting as hell, apparently there was never meant to be a timeskip. And that Episode 24-25 was meant to be he first episode of R2.

If they are those are probably episode writers which are different from the single guy who wrote up the concept of Code Geass.

Taniguchi Goro and Okouchi Ichirou wrote up Code Geass. Okouchi is someone that the writer of Guilty Crown (Yoshino Hiroyuki) has been going to for ideas or something (meanwhile it was the opposite during R2).
So yeah, the two main writers of Code Geass are not apart of the Guilty Crown crew both of whom refuse to write anything more. But one is being asked for ideas.

What original plan?
Everything that wasn't R2 from what it sounds like. Explaining how Suzaku could see CC in the Gawain (hint: Geass, related to his super human physique apparently). Some girl taking over the role of Zero in Lelouch's absence and him joining back up as a common soldier or something. Probably a bunch of other things. I heard these things from Cruor so ask him about where he heard about them.

Eeeeeeeeh, I don't actually hate Code Geass R2 that much if at all. It might be because I started watching Code Geass after the hype was over (I think R2 finished running by the time I started...) and hence I never saw any of the theories and WMGs. So the Sayoko being a ninja and Orange living thing didn't really affect me, although I do like the whole girl becomes second Zero idea. I do wish that we got more Geass backstory though. Hey, maybe the spin-off might address some of this? Has there been any information that says that Geass can or cannot appear in there?
I don't care about anything else, Orange was the best thing to come out of R2.
Also of interest (to me anyway), Code Geass and Guilty Crown. CG and GC, mirror images? It would explain so much.

Since this takes place before the original series (I think) hopefully we won't have to deal with all those flying Knightmares. Looks like they have some alternate ideas for making unique Knightmare designs.
And apparently this isn't going to be just one OVA?
Edit: and most important of all observations, holey moley the Knightmares are actually using their legs for leg like locomotion.

Late post is epochs late, but...
This was Code Geass. Without C.C. lazing around in underwear, or dryhumping furniture, there would be no point to Code Geass. Except maybe Kallen, a little bit. And Kaguya.
When you mention Code Geass, the first thing that pops into your head shouldn't be fighting mecha, Lelouch Suzaku rivalry, or ALL HEIL REROUCH, it should be half-naked C.C.
