Also because Hercules is one smart motherfucker when he's not busy being insane, and smart motherfuckers usually do best with the utility and range the Archer class gives.
Mind you, unless they're summoning someone whose legend is all about loyalty, I can't see Einzberns deliberately summoning an Archer.

If you mention loyalty and strong, I think of Karna, who is an Archer or Lancer.
Knight Class + Loyalty sounds like something the Einzberns would go for.

As much as I'd love seeing Siri write Karna snark, he is way too powerful within the setting unless you swap out some of the weaker Servants with more powerful ones or do what CCC does; Have him have such a cripplingly small amount of prana to work with that he can barely manifest his spear and have him donkey punch people.

Illya!Karna would be beyond retarded in terms of power, and with Illya's sociopathy I'd not be suprised if she *accidentally* dropped a Brahmastra on Fuyuki just to flush people out.
Or have him be like in Apocrypha where he channels Gilgamesh and does not a damn thing for like three volumes aside from fight people whom he can't really hurt and who can't hurt him in return so it's all just a big staring contest.

If you do want a ORANGI Servant for Illya, you could probably take any of the Pandavas. Admittedly that'd blow a lot of people up really fast.

Oh I didnt mention an Archer class, I just said that if they wanted a Servant that didn't ask questions the Pandavas are a good bet. Issue then becomes power levels, but Yudhishtira, Nakula and Sahadeva aren't THAT absurd (though probably still close to the upper echelon of Servants)

They might pick Heracles, might not. But since he's relatively unexplored in the VN I'll probably run with Herc.
It's just that willingly summoning an Archer is kind of silly because of Independent Action. (I think they were drunk when they set that as a class skill.)

It is kind of silly, but with adding of the command seals, its a good bit of risk-reward. Just don't piss off the superbeing infinitely more powerful than you, and there is less and less of an issue.
