From what I've seen, pretty standart RPG with the addition of the relationship thingie. It's what makes any Digimon that's not Agumon and Gabumon evolve to Ultimate and can warrant you free extra turns during battle (if I understood what someone who is playing the game told me).

Plesiomon isn't that great, plus Vikemon looks badass. And how would he be able to move while not in water? At least with Vikemon he isn't slower than a turtle.
The Seadramon line are able to levitate outside of water, and Plesiomon is a "relative" to them. Stands to reason that that should work or be plausible in this case, too.

Pretty Standard stuff. There is a bar at the bottom of the screen and depending on your action, you end up farther (or not that far) along the bar for your next turn (I think Mana Khemia had this same battle system but it's being a long time since I played that.) Then there is the Kizuna attack (or something like that) where if yourS. LinkBond level with that member is above 2 there is a chance they'll attack with a special move free of SP. Also you can digivolve at the low cost of 5 SP.

Sorry, I should have said "how would he be able to move at a reasonable speed while not in water?". He is obviously made to live in water, lacking the means to move as fast in the ground.

He's probably talking about them both being in the Deep Savers family. Though if Plesiomon can levitate, someone should've told it in Xros Wars, because I don't think it knew.

There are new things mixed in there, some cross-over thing too with other Digmon series. I dunno all of them because I should still finish Re:Digitize first.
There are new things. For example, after the Greymon episode there was the option of continuing to the Garurumon one (Main Episode) or doing something with Joe, Gabumon and his Marching Fish attack or something like that. (Sub Episode) After the Garurumon one, there's only the Birdramon one (and that's where I am right now so yeah.)

Well that bothers me less then the fact that Gatomon never has a rookie form or rarely reverts to it....that kind of bothers me

anime-wise, because she didn't evolve to adult by using the digivice, but rather by actually gaining the exp necessary to evolve and have it be her standard form. also convenience in size and drawing them next to the kids. by the time adventure 02 happens, greymon and garurumon can maintain their adult forms for prolonged periods of time post-dark spire (since they were guarding their respective areas) since they finally got enough exp. still revert to child forms for convenience, probably, and so that fans will still see them. also, warp evolution. don't want to remake the animation clips.
game-wise, because the anime helped them sell copies, so keep things similar to the anime, while still changing enough things that people complained about with the anime. yay more sold copies!
