not sure with today's episode.
the fight and rivalry is awesome, but I wish they establish the group more before they start digivoling into Ultimate-level.
Phew, just marathoned "Digimon Frontier" - a series that never aired in my country so when they brought it out on home release last year it was only a matter of time until I got around to watching it. Overall I'd say it's a very middle of the road series. The removal of Partner Digimon in favour of Spirit Evolution was an interesting gimmick but despite the extra screentime I don't feel the human characters benefitted as several of them had very muddy character arcs. I did like that the writers properly foreshadowed each of the antagonists groups as early as the second episode (Legendary Warriors, Cherubimon, Lucemon). However speaking of the plot, the last third was easily the weakest part as most episodes involved Takuya/Kouji jobbing to the Royal Knights whilst Izumi/Junpei/Tomoki/Koichi all stood on the sidelines because once again you have characters who did not reach Mega so they're considered useless!! Then again...looking at what the others canon Megas would've been, maybe we dodged a bullet by not seeing WindmillTits!Izumi and IceLollySword!Tomoki - I don't think I could've taken those two seriously. Side note, I'm so glad Leomon survived this series, that meme is so old at this point. Side side note, the dub surprised me with just how many name changes they made, some completely unnecessary like altering Bolgmon to MetalKabuterimon. In conclusion, I'll just reiterate my initial thoughts that Frontier is okay, not the best but certainly not the worst. Now Bandai put more and more Frontier Digimon into the games because I love them. <3
Bonus round: I had time to spare today so I put on the movie "Revival of the Ancient Digimon"... of which it's the only one for Frontier, but we're back to just over 40 minutes at least. It's a fine movie, though as traditional for a summer anime movie it falls into a lot of the same traps - dubiously canon, heroes devolving so they can retread their character development, very simple plot etc etc. Nevertheless I did enjoy it, it was cool to see some of the more obscure Digimon represented, the animation was fantastic especially the climax with the Digimon coming to the humans' aid by grinding a bunch of giant tanks up some rails into the air like something outta Sonic the Hedgehog. It was also cool to see two of the Warrior Ten cameo at the end, Greymon/Garurumon pandering usually annoys me but AnceintGreymon is one of my all time favourite Digimon so I'll let it slide this time.

There's a certain irony that this movie is all about "leaving childhood elements", but people seem to neglect the Pokemon/Call of Duty paradox of "intended audience" and "actual audience".

The Digimon Reference Book Refresh Project is now complete. All Xros Wars Digimon in the encyclopaedia now have official Levels and Attributes.
There were definitely some interesting choices as to who became what Level. But the one that truly broke my brain was Beelzemon being a Mega but when he DigiXroses with Shoutmon to become X4B they become an Ultimate Level Digimon...somehow getting weaker.
Anyways, as I said before I really hope this means that now the XW Digimon will start showing up in future works more regularly now they have definitive Levels and whatnot.

The ENG site for the (new) Card Game has updated to include the latest Booster Set - "Union Impact" which as its name would suggest focuses on Jogress which of course naturally means a lot of 02 Digimon made it into this Set but also other well known fusions like RagnaLordmon and Omegamon Alter-S.
The banner for the next set "Great Legend" had VictoryGreymon (from the Next manga) and Agnimon (from Frontier) which is also very hype. <3

So not too long ago in China they had the debut of the Kizuna movie there and during the leadup they had a bunch of Chinese posters exclusively made for China and they were kinda cool so I though I'd share them with y'all.

Poster revealed for the TCG's upcoming Booster Set 4 - "Great Legend"
Close-up of the cards on the bottom - Vritramon, Garmmon, Meicoomon, and NeoDevimon.
Interestingly, Vritramon and Garmmon have the ability to Evolve from a Tamer card as if it was a LV3 Digimon in obvious reference to the humans transforming into Digimon in Frontier.

Any Savers fans here? It's always nice to see some non-Adventure Tamer cards revealed since they tend to be few and far between since the TCG keeps trying to promote the current anime, which is fair tbh.
