I am morbidly curious if the ENG dub of the anime "Burn the Witch" will butcher attempts at accents.

Perhaps it would be best to follow Pokémon's example and not do any accents at all.

Agreed, unless they recruit an actual British cast, which is unlikely.

I remember when the Burn the Witch was just a one-shot. Isn't it just the Western / British branch of the Soul Society? Like Hogwarts?

I mean, it said it was the western branch, but they've just been dealing with only dragons so far. The new chapter was cool. One of Nina's band members was illegally raising a dragon, and then one of the Top of the Horns showed up.

So, I completely forgot that "Burn the Witch" was a thing until today and binged the rest of "season one" in one go and well...that sure was something.

After the oneshot and four chapters, I can't tell if I liked it or not. The pacing is all sorts of wonky, Balgo is more plot-device than actual character and the world building is kinda confusing. But the action and characters are entertaining enough I guess.

I'll keep reading when season 2 comes out, but it doesn't quite grab me the same way Bleach did at its own start.

I'm honestly not sure if I'll stick with it because on one hand, there were some interesting plot threads left to resolve, but otherwise, I could not actually divine any real motive for either Noelle or Nina to actually participate in or care about the events of the plot. I mean, Kubo does tell us a bit, but I still cannot get invested in any way or view them as more than semi-fleshed out characters. It doesn't help that I don't trust Kubo at all.

I like how Tsuitsui doing these different takes on the ending also allows him to do after stories for effectively all the side characters. Very nicely structured.

To anyone else who's up to date with Blue Exorcist, do you wonder where God actually fits into the equation with regards to humans, demons, Assiah, and Gehenna? I honestly wonder if God is actually Satan, since he is Gehenna, and holy water, which is useful against demons, is extracted from the body of the Archangel Armumahel, who is a being from Gehenna, implying there is some holiness to Gehenna. Furthermore, the non-Christian demons, like Uke, Mike, and Ucchusma, refer to Rin's Satan Flames as Divine Flames, and Ucchusma even dismisses the categories of demon, Myo'o, and god as human fabrications. With this in mind, Satan could be God, and Assiah could have come forth from Gehenna. That still leaves Jesus and the effectiveness of scripture on demons a mystery, though.
