At the same time, Atrum is a great example of oft mentioned but rarely properly represented Mage Morality.

The thing with Atomic Gatorade is he has the right mind-set or attitude as a first class magus. But he isn't a magus, he's someone who has bought that position with cash money.
Therefore he holds none of the responsibilities or burdens that someone like Kayneth or even Rin might have.

This is evident when he fights Svin, he gets called out for being nothing more than a magecraft user

So rather than someone who properly represents the morality of magi, he's someone who represents the extreme of that mortality or that mortality without any restraints.
Rather than what how that works in practice, he represents just exactly how horrible it could be.

I'm happy he showed up in Case Files for this exact reason. He's the type of character where its more satisfying to call them out on their shit rather than just kill them.
